More than one enemy is meant to be really tough but later on you'll get some really overpowered abilities that will make it easier. I need to progress to find a belt where I can equip a third weapon but I want to carry an axe or something because armoured enemies can be really hard with a sword. I can't seem to poke them in the face like the first game either. Also go to Tomcat and get Master Strike if you haven't already. It was busted in the first game and not as strong in this one but it's still really good.

I got a major beef with the main questline where you get the sword for the blacksmith .

It turns out the guy claiming to be the hermit is an imposter , but he has a book that shows where the sword location is at.

-when you first encounter him you have a chance to pickpocket because he is asleep. But if your pickpocket skill is not high enough he always wakes up. This is the easiest chance to grab the clue you need. But when you are playing blind you have no hint that is what you need to do . So you go and do an errand quest for him .

-when you return there are a group of knights waiting for you. They ask you to help them beat the imposter ,who is a wanted man . Attacking them is not really an option because they wreck you .
So you accept their offer and help them .
When you are about to go in it says you have a chance to save the imposter , but if you get anywhere near him he kills you.
So you aid the knights in killing him .

-Then it tells you that you need the CLUE which I already spoke of. But its no longer on the body of the imposter hermit.
As you search the area the knights instantly tell you to leave ( even after you have helped them) . If you stay more than 30 seconds they kill you .
Which is abit stupid after you aided them . This is where you get stuck in a cycle of constantly reloading because you dont have a heckin'g clue where to look . You only have about 30 seconds before you get killed .

-Then you have no choice but to look up what you need to do on google. It turns out the clue is underneath 3 sacks.
Not just one sack but three ! lifting the sacks takes ages .
they tucked right into the corner and hard to see . You need to do this to get the book clue where the sword is .
Finding that clue playing blind while the knights chase you tell you to leave , is a piss take .
Even when you know where to look you are racing against the clock to not get killed .

Horrible design IMO

im up to the same quest, he wouldnt talk to me so i killed him, took the diary from him and was on my way!

Some random thoughts after putting 20 hours into it over the past 2 days:

The takedown mechanic is a bit shit. Reckon I've had one successful sneak up and choke, then got the dagger and the next 20 have been fended off. Went and found the "stealth" kinda crew last night and invested heavily in pickpocketing/takedowns/lockpicks so that may change now.

Been trying to avoid stealing stuff, thought I was in the clear and nobody had seen me so looted a room. Next time I went back to the town the fuzz was all over me, chuck me in the stocks and then give me everything back anyway - except for my saddle which I didn't really steal but found on a corpse out in the woods. And it was mint too so that pissed me right off.

Found a good way to make some quick cash is to steal horses from bandits and sell them to the nomad horse guy. Actually having a horse is so different. Walking everywhere and losing half a day was getting a bit lame. Was a great way to find little treasures but still.

Visit the butcher, walk in the door: "What do you want scum!?"
Me: "Show me your wares"
Butcher before showing me his stuff: "God bless you"

The voice acting is interesting, people's accents and voices change completely from when they approach you to when you actually converse. I saw a lot of this come up in the reviews but it's still funny.

Glad I spent a good 6 hours trying to get Mutt back specifically to aid with hunting. He basically chases the animals off and doesn't catch anything. Then is exhausted. He is handy for when taking on multiple bandits though.

Feel like I've barely scratched the surface - about 25 hours in. Just curious if the money side of things will start going crazy like it does in other games when you have to loot everything in the beginning then you're wiping your arse with $100 bills by the end.

Another dirty way to make quick coin, especially if you have Mutt and the hunting perk, is to hunt boar and deer. When you smoke or dry the meat it loses its stolen icon and can be sold. It's cheeky but I find it morally more acceptable than stealing horses when I'm RP'ing a Christian Henry.

Watched some videos today (Doms Roundtable on YouTube), I had seriously totally forgotten about the outfit sets f*cks sake. This evening spent the first half hour getting them set up - one battle, one stealth and one dress. The dress one I had from killing Sarna the Great and his friend coz I thought they were more bandits.

Pretty fruitful session, made a lot of cash without being too scummy, upgraded my armour a heap without buying anything, and levelled up my character a heap. Feel like I can concentrate on the story and side missions a bit more now.

Every time I think I'm nearly done with Trosky I find another question/point of interest marker which leads to more side quests. And quests in this game aren't just "go fetch me that" and are often mini sagas on their own. The amount of content is crazy.
Yeah reminds me a bit of Cyberpunk in that regard, where even a little side gig is often more involved and interesting than typical extra side quests in a lot of games.

If only I had known that killing him early would save me a load of hassle .

The next part of the main quest in Trosky has even more ******ed AI .
The amount of times I had to reload . lmao

The guards in this game are straight out of Oblivion (anyone who played it will know what I mean).
They amazingly know you have committed a crime ,even when there were no witnesses .

I had tons of OP loot confiscated by a random guard.

Just me or is lockpicking a real biatch on controller? I've largely avoided doing it until now where I'm up to "For Whom the Bells Toil" quest, which if you know the one I'm talking about, you're oddly pretty much unable to avoid at least a couple of lockpickings..

Yeah early lockpicking is horrible. Even with kb+mouse which wasn't too bad in the first game is poo in this one. My lockpicking sucked and I struggled so much in that mission. I actually thought I soft locked myself from progressing and for the first time had to consult a guide which told me a cheeky place to find a lockpick. Even then I was down to my last one and only finished the quest at the last moment. I was avoiding the miller's quests because it didn't fit in with my RP but I've been doing them now just to get some sneaking and lockpicking experience so I don't find myself in that situation again.

Lockpicking is a bitch, was in the first game and is in this one too, I try to avoid if I can (until missions have it and I need to).

I was also struggling badly fighting against wolves in this, until I realised I had to time the block/parry right and then quickly get on the attack.

Oh good, it wasn't just me getting pissed off with the lockpocking mechanics and fighting wolves.

My lockpicking levels are much higher now and it does get a f*ckload easier but still feels fragile.
