Sounds like this year there isnt a huge gap between picks 10-30 and we could see alot of suprises coming up around the pick 30 area !!

I'd say more 1-20 area even more so. Entirely possible a number of these top 20 types slide so maybe someone pretty handy makes it to pick 30.

I kind of like the fact that Richmond hold #9 #29 #31 this year Gee that tambling trade was a good one its the gift that keeps giving Bradley Helbig(2010) Todd Elton (2011) ? (2012),

Looks like some people are going a bit Cold on players like Kennedy & Stringer of late with some others perfoming well recently.

One thing I will say on Vlastuin. I expect him to interview very well so while I have him going more 15-20 on draft day, top 10 is still entirely possible and he probably deserves to go closer to pick 10. Whether it happens is the unknown.
The more I hear about Vlastuin, the more confident I am he will be a top 9 selection ;)

Yes thats right, played on a lead up forward and struggled, mainly in the first half, was ok in the second half. Plays loose a lot so can get into bad habits when he has to defend. Dont get me wrong I like him as a player and good luck to him, just telling you what I think his deficiencies are.

although some positives from that game was he did keep his opponent goal less (and sat on his opponents head), plus he only has played loose against West Adelaide when he got 41 apart from that he always has an opponent, but also the game style which sturt plays doesnt help having 7 defenders-Probably allows for more "loose Ball" And by the way i wasnt having ago at you!!! being a friend i often dont see what his deficiencies are and its good to get someone else's opinion!

What Results would he need at the state screening to really improve hist status, because he ran a 15.11 beep test not too long ago at school and yes he isnt super fast over 20m but runs a 12 second 100m!?

Just a hypothetical question KM

You have Grundy going to Port at #7
but with 5 players over 200cm Ruckman on their list as well as another 2 players that are capable of P/T rucking in Jackson Trengove(197cm) + Cameron O'Shea (197cm)

Mathew Lobbe(200cm) ,Jarrad Redden(205cm) ,Brent Renouf(200cm) ,Daniel Stewart (200cm) ,Curnow Mitchell (202cm)

The next team is Brisbane and highly doubt they would be looking at another 1st round ruckman, What would the chance of grundy slipping to Richmonds Selection and would you select Grundy over Wines - Putting yourself in the tiger shoes ?

I've never seen O'Shea ruck. There's a chance that D. Stewart will be delisted and an even bigger chance of Curnow getting cut. In saying that, I doubt Port will take Grundy. He would be un upgrade on all of our current ruckmen but he does not fill a need.

I would think that the more likely scenario is that GWS will get another top 5 draft pick (because of the mini draft) and use that to draft Grundy, especially if they lose Giles.

Talking about the top end of the draft, KM do you think there is any chance of Toumpas slipping? Especially if the other guys impress at the combine.

Any chance, Grundy could end up at the saints with pick 12/13 ?.....I can't see Brisbane, Richmond, Carlton, Essendon(FS) taking him, and with our probable* extra first rounder I think it may be possible

O'Shea is more a tall flanker. I can't imagine him in the ruck and Trengove while he could be a 2nd ruckman certainly isn't a pure ruckman.

The thing with the Port Adelaide ruck stocks is while the sheer quantity makes you take a step back it really lacks quality. Renouf is depth. Stewart is an ok but not great ruck/fwd. Lobbe and Redden while they have both played are still developing and I'm not yet convinced with either. Then Curnow is much further back as another project.

Port Adelaide obviously would be wrong to add another late/rookie type ruckman and I'm not doubting for a moment that these developing stocks need to be added to, but when a talent of Grundy's quality is there. Why not? He can play round one and is an upgrade on this whole group - and has the ability with time to make the midfield look better.

Very unlikely Grundy slides. Recent talk has been Melbourne at 4 - if they don't move that selection will take him. But when GWS trade those minidraft selections into another 1-2 early selections they will surely take Grundy with one of those. Less than 5% chance of Grundy being available for Richmond and while you should still look into him in the surprising scenario he is available, be prepaired for him not to slide that far.

Hey Knightmare - Freo have already agreed to picking Moller in the rookie draft.

Having not played this year it doesn't surprise me Moller has gone rookie.

Will slot him in once clubs have confirmed which ND selections they will use and then slot him into that final rookie selection.

Great value as a rookie and might just be another handy ruckman coming through.

Sadly no. GWS once all the minidraft trading happens will likely secure another early selection or two and with that likely take Grundy.

For what it's worth I have GWS taking Grundy at #1. I really think long-term it'd be the smarter selection. All though Whitfield is a star I think Grundy would suit them better. It is scary to think that Gold Coast could potentially have Ablett, J'OM and Whitfield running around in the same side next year though...

With trade week and those minidraft selections GWS can move they might yet end up with both Whitfield and Grundy.

Some of the International guys do you think any will get drafted?

Certainly Kurt Heatherley will be next year when he is draft eligable and is already very promising. He will end up at Hawthorn being a part of their New Zealand program and should go straight to the senior list.

The others while I haven't seen them play there are a few that sound intriguing. The Irish boys sound interesting. Then maybe some of those other smalls also get a look.

Could Port really pass on a top young ruckman? I dont think they can - the only ruckman with potential is Redden and he is two years away. Lobbe is not a good ruckman, Stewart and Curnow will definately get the chop.

As Knightmare said, GWS will probably have a few more top 10 draft picks come the end of the trade period.
Wouldn't be surprised to see them with one or both of the Melbourne's or Dees first round picks as a result of the mini-draft. They'll be able to get Grundy with one of those you'd imagine.

I just don't see GWS using a top10 pick on a ruck man. They will trade into one like the swans did with Mumford. They will accumulate mids and KPP understanding that will trade at a later date!

Maybe you're right, but the situation will be pretty dire if Giles walks and Brogan retired. Who else do they have?

Grundy isn't just a ruck either. Can play up forward too with great effect. Even if Giles stays the two could rotate between the forward 50 and stoppages with some pretty awesome results. He's clearly a top 10 talent in an area in which the GWS have a list deficiency.

Downie is an athlete from a basketball background, is developing but nowhere near ready to assume full-time ruck duties. Andrew Phillips hasn't exactly set the world on fire either, the jury is still out on him too. So aside from rotating Patton or O'Hailpin through the ruck to give these two a chop-out who else have they got?

They passed on Longer last year in the hope he would slide and Brisbane pounced and we've taken their academy player Moller with our NSW scholarship. They're essentially forced to recruit one, it's a no brainer from me that they would use an early pick on Brodie.

KM said it appears that the MFC have expressed interest in Grundy at pick 4. If that is correct then GWS will need to throw the kitchen sink at GC to get pick 2 so they can secure Grundy and say Whitfield. A mini draft pick plus... to GC. Win for GC. Win for GWS landing possible elite players, one big and one small - BIG , BIG WIN considering they are only giving away freebie mini pick/s (plus maybe a little cream on top) courtesy of the AFL/clubs.
