What makes you think they were ever hot on him in the first place? o_O ;) I'll be very surprised if they pick him with either of their top 10 picks.

That said, Brett Anderson (from Inside Football) and someone else from ESP (Elite Sports Properties) said on SEN last night (when discussing the draft and doing a phantom top 20) that the latest strong rumours are that he is firming for the WB at pick 4, so Collingwood may not get the chance to overlook him.

There is some but relatively limited club interest. I don't have Bond getting drafted and likely he'll have to come back next year but he can do some damage and has a nice tackling game. A rookie position isn't out of the question.

This was what I was saying as others have picked up on. Fyfe if he could kick would be if not the best then quite probably the second best midfielder in the competition after Ablett.

"AFL experts" just don't like ragging on the stars of our game and talking about their failings.
Fyfe as dominant as his marking and clearance work is, just cannot kick. We saw it through the u18 champs back in 2009 where he had set shot attempts from the goalsquare and we saw it on grand final day where he had his chances in front of goal and continued time after time to miss.
Had he converted from his opportunities it would likely have been a Fremantle win.

There is always next year though.

The rumours I'm hearing is Bontempelli may not even be available to Collingwood at 6 with the Dogs strongly considering him at pick 4.

Collingwood have long had interest in McCarthy. Whether he is the eventual selection at pick 10 is unknown and Brisbane would have to overlook him at pick 7 first but he's one I believe will be on Collingwood's shortlist depending on how the other chips fall.

Bontempelli I'd be very surprised to see available 13. WBD, Collingwood and Brisbane are all said to be very interested.

If anyone slides further than expected don't be surprised if Sheed makes it through to Carlton.

There is a little bit of that circulating re. Bontempelli at pick 4.

It's looking increasingly likely.

Kolodjashnij at pick 3 is also a possibility which hasn't been spoken about much and may very possibly happen.

The chips are still falling into place and things should become more clear early next week.

Freeman if available with his athleticism is someone I see West Coast going for. WCE badly lack guys who can run the length of the field and have a bunch of one paced midfielders but Freeman with his pace and endurance is someone I can see West Coast liking if there.

Acres is another I can imagine would be on the shortlist as many speculate and could be anotehr alternative considered if they shift away from Sheed last minute.
