Knightmare, May I ask what is your background it seems you know a hell of a lot when it comes to potential draftees, are you professionally involved or do you just do you follow for fun

Just a hobby recruiter with a full time job.

Knightmare who do i see as a good option for the tigers first pick? Who is a quick linebreaking midfielder with elite skills?

Ben Lennon is probably that closest guy in Richmond's draft range who if there I would pick. Excellent kick and has some real penetration to him with above average pace.

Christian Salem on the outside is another option. Has a real physical edge to him but is a fantastic user of the footy and has some pace.

Dwayne Wilson also an excellent choice as a big time outside linebreaker who can really use the footy if you don't mind going for a guy below 180cm.

Wilson had a good day today - I would love Port to pick him up - a lot of upside with this kid

I'd be exceptionally surprised to see Garlett go top 10. I can't see a club taking the risk with a pick inside the first two rounds of the draft on him at this point. In saying this things change and I could well be proven very wrong.

If he makes it into the AFL I personally think he'll be a success given not only his production but then also improvement showing me that he does work hard at his game and will continue to improve, it's just whether a club takes the chance and takes the chance early is more my question.

Remember my draft is about what I think clubs will do. Not what I'd do. I'd be taking him probably not in the top 10 but certainly the first round but until I hear that clubs are also rating him this highly I'll remain sceptical.

Can I jump in here for a moment

Have heard in recruiting circles that Garlett is being viewed as a top 40 pick

McDonald slipped in your power rankings? Or just my imagination? What chance do you think North are of nabbing him with 2nd rounder? I see Brisbane and Melbourne as the most likely to bid for him...

KM: where has Zac webster gone

He's still in that mix but I don't have him on my list at the moment with some others really popping up and playing some exceptional footy.

KK and Templeton are the Tasmanians to watch this year and those two who will be hard for clubs to pass up. The rest may be in the mix (Webster included) but far from certainties.

Some like him in the top 10. Some see him going in the 3rd round (this is where I still have him until I hear he will go earlier) and others would still hesitate to draft him.

It's going to be interesting to watch anyway.

I wonder whether Dunstan and Scharenberg are moving ahead of Aish as a result of form in the Under 18 Championships.

Possible but assuming Melbourne finish with that no.2 selection they need Aish more. They've got no outside running or ability to use the footy so it's pretty hard to see Melbourne passing him up. He's starting to come good so he hasn't dropped down my draft order anyway.

McDonald has dropped slightly. I was hoping he would dominate slightly more than he has this year. Still a top 5 or 6 talent in my mind in this draft though.

Hard to see a club not making North use that 1st rounder selection on McDonald. Most likely the Western Bulldogs who badly need someone who can use the footy and would love a shot at young McDonald.

Nice work! Chances of Boyd to Dogs if they finish with pick 5-6??

You'll have to trade into the no.1 selection if you want Boyd.

It will take that 1st rounder and an elite young player to make it happen. If you offer this then GWS will listen with their key forward stocks looking pretty strong.

I hope so - I would love for Aish to slip to Port - he wasn't the best performer yesterday but he is a class above the rest

Not a chance Aish slips to Port.
Aish goes top 3, the kid has talent, points on the board and pedigree.

If Port want Aish, they'll have to get him down the track.

Do you think Melbourne would go for Aish, who you have described as the more outside type player, despite going Toumpas last year over Wines or a Vlastuin with a more harder edge that god knows Melbourne need. Could you see them going for a Dunstan?

Very low - won't slip past the Saints if GWS opt for someone else.

Yeah - barring someone getting aggressive and trading up somehow, whoever finishes lowest out of the Saints, Dogs or Lions would have to be the favourite to get him.

I think so. In watching their games they're reasonably competitive inside the contest but their real issues are their run and spread from the contest and their outside ball movement and running game - all of which are poor at the moment and those areas where Melbourne is weakest.

Melbourne still need to look at their options and a Scharenberg or Sheed could come into the picture but Aish as a fit is what they need more than anything even if I don't see him necessarily as the best talent in this draft.

Who do you see as the best talent in the draft KM?
Apologies if you have already mentioned it, I haven't read the whole thread.

How do you compare Aish vs Dunstan?
Also, where would Sheed rate compared to those players?

Jack Martin would be but Thomas Boyd would be my pick.

It's harder to find those absolutely elite key forwards and with Boyd already a dominant key forward the signs are looking good that he'll become one of the better key forwards in the game.

I rate them all very closely.
Aish better outside. Dunstan better inside. Aish is the more advanced but usually the more inside guys concert better to senior footy with u18 football more geared to favour the outside types so I'd go based on needs if picking between the pair.

Sheed is the best rounded of the three but I'd like to see how they all go in the second half of the season as they have all had their injury issues and it's not a clear cut choice of this group in my mind at this stage.

Id prefer the Demons took Dunstan at pick 2 instead of Aish who seems very slight

we have burned so many top end picks on lightly framed players that its left a bad taste in every Demon supporters mouth
