willsmore 28? Surely not

Any number of players could be placed at 28 with the rest of the draft open to interpretation from pick 20, maybe pick 25. I don't like him as a forward but up the field he showed some better signs late season with that last month better and relatively encouraging.

I wouldn't think he would be picked until around 40. In my opinion a lot better players ahead of him.

#62 West Coast - Dwayne Wilson (SA – Mid/Fwd)
This is the PRIZE of the draft if it happens.
I think Port might even have a crack at him with a 20s pick (when they sort the trade picks)

Apparently the Suns are also keen on Wilson as well. Maybe this is part of their reluctance to trade #20 and #27 with #14 from Port?

#60 Western Bulldogs - Isaiah Miller (VIC –Def/Mid)Height: 187cm, Weight: 82kg, DOB: 07/01/1995
Recruited from: Bendigo Pioneers
Style:
Player comparison: Jordan Russell
Range: 20-60
Profile: Miller is a back flanker who plays a good two way game. He reads it well behind the ball and get his share of intercept marks. Knows when to go 3rd man up. Wins his 1v1 contests. He’s also an excellent user of the footy as someone who can also by foot generate some real drive from the back half as a precise user of the footy. Miller has the ability to play a role either on a back flank or wing. He just lacks that one quality that really pops out at you.

Looking at his footage, I can see him going a lot earlier. Screams Jason Ashby (VFL highlights) who we picked up last year. Poised, quick, good overhead and effortless.

Port will pick these guys before they pick Taylor. Of that list, Dunstan would be the highest ranked.

#15 Sydney – Darcy Gardiner (VIC – KPD)
Height: 192cm, Weight: 84kg, DOB: 22/09/1995

#16 Geelong – Blake Acres (WA – Mid/Util)Height: 188cm, Weight: 84kg, DOB: 07/10/1995
Recruited from: West Perth

#18 St Kilda (via Hawthorn) - Luke Dunstan (SA –Mid/Fwd)
Height: 185cm, Weight: 83kg, DOB: 29/01/1995

#23 Adelaide (compensation) - Trent Dumont (SA – Mid/Def)
Height: 185cm, Weight: 83kg, DOB: 30/06/1995

#25 St Kilda (compensation) - Jonathon Marsh (WA – KPF/Util)
Height: 191cm, Weight: 89kg, DOB: 17/10/1995

#27 Gold Coast – Luke Reynolds (SA – Fwd)
Height: 188cm, Weight: 86kg, DOB: 09/01/1995

#33 Carlton - Darcy Hourigan (SA – KPF/KPD)
Height: 190cm, Weight: 92kg, DOB: 18/09/1995

I take it you haven't seen Taylor play.

Any thoughts on Paul Ventura from WWT? What's holding him back (other than height)? Won the SANFL under 18's Magarey equivalent and is bloody quick too.

Sheed, Acres and Bontempelli are my guess. At least one of them will be there in any case if not more.

Do you think they could take Acres before Sheed? Or do you mention Acres as backup in case Sheed isn't there.
Looking at the highlights on AFL.com.au, Acres appears to have everything - size, pace, mark, inside and outside game, decent kick and the stats show he knows how to find it.

Hey Knightmare, like everyone else on this thread I've been watching the draft profiles videos. What can you tell me about Jack Leslie? It said he plays a mix of ruck and KPD, would he be worth a rookie selection?

How did Vic Metro not win the Champs in a canter?
8 top 10 prospects...Boyd,Billings,Kelly,McDonald,Lennon,Freeman,Salem,Bontempelli. Could some of these be overated?
You'd think they would have for sure if Boyd hadn't missed the last couple of games, as he started the champs in ridiculously good form. McDonald was playing injured or underdone and made little impact on the games I saw, while Freeman missed one of the televised games and then didn't do much in the final one. Probably the only ones that played well of that group in the last two games were Kelly, Lennon and Billings, although Bontempelli finished off that last game very well.

Supports my having Salem outside the top 10 and lowers Freeman

Hey KM, just wondering your thoughts on Meyrick Buchanon. I couldn't see him in your draft or prospects. Do you think he is little chance in both the national and rookie draft?

It would not shock me in the slightest if GC looked at Wilson. They load up on speed and skill every year and Wilson would just be another to that factory or the same type - which you can deal with.

Had some really good highlights from what I just watched. Better than most in terms of highlights which might be the thing that makes him "pop" knightmare

If you can't look good on a 2-3min highlight film you're never going to look good.

Keep in mind also that I picked Miller in the 3rd round of the bigfooty trial phantom earlier in the year.

I just don't see every club looking for a back flanker.

Any thoughts on Paul Ventura from WWT? What's holding him back (other than height)? Won the SANFL under 18's Magarey equivalent and is bloody quick too.

Small and light (170cm, 65kg). Not much demand for that with clubs not necessarily going into drafts looking for those types.

He's quick though. Speed and agility. He's got that covered.

It's just a year with so many quality smalls that you really have to have more dominant attributes than the next guy and less relative weaknesses.

I want to see how Ventura goes against some higher level competition first because he's only played the one reserves game.

Acres could for all we know be that selection instead of Sheed. It wouldn't shock me given Sheed is more a slowish mid in a slow midfield.

That said Acres as far as I can gather is more likely the backup plan.

You're not alone in your love for Acres. He can become one of the best in this draft and I want Collingwood to take him at 10.

That Boyd fella getting injured hurt and only played one and a bit games. McDonald was playing hurt and was good in only one of the games. Billings was playing hurt.
The others are somewhat more difficult to make excuises for but with that combination of players in trouble it really hurt that team.

Hey km i see you dropped conlon out of your draft. Surely some one will take a punt?

Conlon may not go in the national draft. He's someone who has a name after being spoken about for some time but the reality of his situation is that he didn't play this year. Last year when he did play he only had the two good (great) games and those were the first two of the season as a forward. Other than that he wasn't THAT outstanding.

If I had to guess he's a rookie pick. May go national draft. May get overlooked entirely as Ben Brown was a couple of years back as a similar size and positional type.

I wanted to know about this as well. Is he ready to begin training now, or is he still in recovery mode? What are his chances of becoming 100% again?

Seems like massive upside for a late pick if he can get back to playing.

Injuries as an 18 year old don't concern me long term. He's just been working through those injuries this year and in the second half of the season from what I understand was training so he'll make a return to some kind of match play at some stage next year I'd assume.

I'll have to wait till this weekend to catch up on some of the highlights.

Leslie has some promising components to his game. Tall, athletic and aggressive.

As a ruckman he handyand follows up well making him perhaps a viable no.2 ruck option. May also go ok as a key defender at his height with his athleticism.

Skills and ability below the knees not great. Doesn't find a whole lot of the ball around the ground.

It's not a complete package and you can't assume as a big guy he develops those below the knee/skill/ability to accumulate aspects so if you're ok with those not being features of his game then perhaps he could be a consideration.

He'll be in the mix late/rookie. Just not a certain selection.

Hey KM, just wondering your thoughts on Meyrick Buchanon. I couldn't see him in your draft or prospects. Do you think he is little chance in both the national and rookie draft?

Only played the 5 games. He was good in the first four, found a fair bit of the ball and did some damage. He's a possible consideration but probably more as a rookie.

Knightmare what draft range and trade value in terms of pick/s would you have on Josh Bruce and Billy Longer, the two players the Saints are chasing?

Josh Bruce I don't rate. He'd be a late draft selection if in this draft as another depth tall.

Longer though is worth a late first round selection.

KM what are your thoughts on Kane Lambert and is he someone Pies may look at as a mature ager?

Lambert has had a strong season. He backed up his strong play from last season through the midfield but hit the scoreboard more. May be a rookie chance for a club but I doubt Collingwood look at him with the needs more key forwards, tall mids and some damaging outside types (wing/HBF specifically).

Hey KM,
Watched Darcy Byrne-Jones' highlights was impressed by his speed and kicking skills. Obviously tested really well at the Combine and with Brisbane having a history of picking up players that stood out at the combine (Brad Harvey beep test, Elliot yeo agility) thoughts on him getting to the lions ?

Cheers
