Thanks for the tip on Langford. Sounds like the sort of pick that would be exciting and what swans need. Will keep an eye out, don't think pick10 will be ours however, still love the sound of Clem Smith.

With Heeney, Dunkley, Perris, Hewett coming through Sydney can afford to recruit some more speed.

Swans won't pick a kid without speed.

Dunkley is the real standout of that group for Sydney and looks a top 3 talent next year. One to look forward to even if it's still very early.

I hear he's at 188cm and a contested midfielder with great composure and immense scope.

Would you have any comments to wet the appetite further?

He's only started playing TAC Cup this year so his form other than u16s hasn't been all that exposed.

The basics are that he's a tall, strong bodied midfielder. He's got some real hardness in the contest. Big time contested ball winner. Strong tackler. Excellent by hand as an inside extractor. Doesn't find a whole lot of outside ball though.

For a comparison he's not unlike Josh Kennedy so he'll be an excellent get in 2015 for the 2016 season when eligable.

KM reading between the lines, you seem to have dropped of on Billy Stretch a little.

Have you seen anything specific from him, or more just others stepping up?

Mostly seeing more of others and liking their improvement more. But in saying that I wasn't particularly impressed by his AIS v Collingwood game. Senior competition is a real measuring point to see where guys are at and Stretch looked out of his depth.

He still has time to rise up my rankings but he's looking more like a 3rd rounder for Melbourne at this point.

Knightmare is the Garrett McDonough a mature age player who was playing Ammo's for De La last year?

Garrett McDonagh is draft age this year. He players Northern Knights (from West Preston) previously.

Who at this stage are the standout goal kicking mid-sized forwards who won't transition to be midfielders. Players that play a similar role to Lecras.

Petracca is the most dominant of the medium forwards and doesn't look to me like a midfielder at this point. Hayes and Bower I'd also talk about similarly as forwards who don't look like midfielders at the moment.

As for a similar role to LeCras. Again probably Petracca looks most likely to play the most similar role but at this point he still plays like a short but big bodied key forward and doesn't have the freakish talent LeCras possesses.

Taylor grace gets 30+ every week and gets no recognition at all coming off sandy dragons best and fairest last year what's your thoughts
Lonie can play. Unfortunately he doesn't have the height of Ryan and Nathan but he's got talent.

He played a good game v Geelong Falcons the other week and has his big games where he can do some big damage. But he also lacks consistency and sometimes lacks consistency in his disposal - both he'll need to improve on if he wants to find his way onto an AFL list next year.

Grace was draft eligible last year but he's playing some very strong footy this year and has stepped up his game which is encouraging. The criticisms are that he has lacked consistency by foot and defensive effort at times with his tackling and defensive running not quite where it needs to be.

I'd be interested to see if he plays any VFL later in the season. I feel he can hold his own and if he can show some composure at the level and up the defensive indicators and he can enter draft considerations.

Nightmare what do you think West Coast would do if they had the chance to pick up Pickett or Smith in the first round but will lose Waterman as a F/S

Hey mate just noticed that Hammelman has seemed to go up your ratings, wondering what you have seen to justify this? Also wondering how Roos and clayton are tracking along as father sons for Brisbane

Whether West Coast pick Waterman in the first round or not will depend on the demand from other clubs and where West Coast finish at the end of the day.

If West Coast finish inside the top 8 and Waterman continues to improve and is deemed a top 2 midfield in this draft by the experts as I deem him then you can bet West Coast will be forced to use that first round pick on Waterman.

If West Coast finish say 5th and others are deemed by clubs to be better talents then West Coast can get Waterman in the second round.

It's hard to see West Coast passing in favour of Pickett or Smith. Waterman as a midfielder is on another level and has a level of consistency I'm yet to see from Pickett and Smith so I'd be recommending West Coast go with Waterman and take him wherever he needs to be taken. He's a round one ready midfielder and he can improve West Coast's midfield. Pickett and Smith are first round selections but they'll need more time and while they have talent I don't see either as nearly as well rounded as Waterman.

Hammelmann is roughly worth an early second rounder I'd say at this point. Can't recall where I had Hammelmann before in my power rankings but it's more the talent around him is settling and I'm getting a better idea of what others are serving up.

I've seen Hammelmann play for the AIS U18 side this year but I want to see how he performs again this year through the u18 champs to better get a feel for exactly where he's at, what he can do and to get a better feel for exactly how his development is going and how much he's improved. But he's always been one of the top key position players in this draft class and has for some time been considered as being among that second group of talls picked. Wright/Durdin/McCartin/Goddard/Moore are the top guys with Keitel/Hammelmann among others in that next group who won't be top 5 selections but still have a real chance with further development to make the grade.

Roos and Clayton are both performing reasonably well in the TAC for Sandy Dragons but they've both still got some way to go before either/or/both are worth nominating as F/S players. At this stage both look more like late/rookie chances and will want to continue to improve if they want to find their way onto AFL lists next year.

Do you think we'll see much of Dunkley during the U/18 championships for VIC Country?

Great work again KM.

Thinking Freo will go tall with their first pick but would hope they get a tough in and under mid after that, any good players you can suggest might be available for 2nd or 3rd round picks? Thanks KM

If the selectors have been paying attention then I'd say he features and features frequently.

Dean Gore might potentially be available around that point. Perhaps a Peter Bampton. Both would be excellent gets 2nd round for Fremantle.

I would actually think the opposite. I think Freo will go for a pure mid with there first pick. Considering we loaded up on talls last year. KPF we now have Apeness, Taberner and also Moller who seems to be developing his forward game. As for backs we have Tanner Smith, Vandeleur and Alex Pearce to develop and Dawson, Silvagni and Johnson still have time left on there side. If we are going to go tall I would think it would be for a KPB as Alex Pearce could turn out to be a forward also.
Knightmare what are your thoughts on Blair from Peel Thunder? seems to be getting lots of numbers as a smaller type with pace and seems to hit the scoreboard as well. He is 180cm, very quick and already quite well built

Who is Blair? No idea who you're talking about.

Is Kyle Langford a relative to Chris?

Not as far as I'm aware.
