Knights/douglas

Both will be great for the footy club unless something happens. I think they are very similar in playing style to Goodwin and Edwards. Knights - Goodwin, Douglas - Edwards. Douglass is the more classy player, very good evasive skills and seems to have a lot of space to work with most of the time. Knights has a great work rate and is probably going to be betting in the stoppages. Knight's needs to work on his kicking, his handballing seams ok but his kicking is pretty bad- it's a mixed bag. On good days it seems ok, but on bad ones he'll get noticed.

I think that it is a good comparison re: use of the ball, class & evasiveness.

Whilst it is always going to be difficult replacing club midfield champions Roo, Goody, Edwards & McLeod, we are now far better placed than we were a couple of years back with Reilly, Thompson, VB, Knights, Douglas (& hopefully Pfeiffer) ... & further our mid-age players such as Burton, Mattner & Doughty have all taken the next step. The future looks good! :thumbsu:

The question is whether these players can transition from tier2 to tier1 players.....this is where Essendon have come unstuck.

It's not the fact they have regularly played finals footy...look at them and they have more top 10 picks in their side than a lot....but it comes back to whether these players can attain tier1 status in the AFL versus junior footy??

Its hard to say Douglas is ahead, since he hasnt played at all. Knights also looked well composed at SANFL level, theres a huge step up, and this could still catch Douglas out.

Yeah it'll catch him out, he'll be traded back to Vic and then become an out and out gun!!!

spot on. it's not enough to get a game, some guys must go further into absolute tier 1 status.
