The match day report against Adelaide's Chris Knights for engaging in rough conduct against St Kilda's Shane Birss was assessed. It was the view of the panel the contact was caused by circumstances outside the control of Knights which he could not have reasonably foreseen, in that player Knights was pushed from behind. No further action was taken.

... that player Knights was pushed from behind. No further action was taken.
Will there be any action taken against the umpire for not paying a free kick to Knights?

All that does is confirm my opinion at the time that McBernie nearly shat himself with joy at the opportunity to report a Crows player.
He should be punished for not withdrawing that report when the rest of Australia could see that the report itself was farcical.

i agree;...Knights was annoyed at the ump for the decision...and basically ignored his rambling...who would want an annoying ump following you around to tell you why they are giving the free kick against you...the ump was annoyed and reported him.I watched that closely both at the time and on the replay. I reckon that dipstick got pissed off because Knights more or less ignored him immediately after the incident when he tried to say something to him. My feeling is that he decided to report him because he was pissed off that Knights didn't recognise his super-importance. He would have had to be blind not to see the push and he was in good position.
