If he can develop his game by at least 10% then he will be an awesome addition rather than a stop gap as some have pigeon holed him.
He's been hit by injury in the second half of the year, easily in our best 22 in the first half of the season when fit.
Can play that high forward role too, tall midfielder and surprisingly decent overhead for a guy pigeonholed as an inside mid.

Bargain buy for the Saints, he'll be a good addition to the list and we're not going to get anything higher than pick 50 for him.

Dunno about you but if we just won a flag I wouldn't give a shit if the whole list resigned on mass.

Hamling done.
Stevens trade should ensue quickly.

I dont think this will be done until Thursday to be honest.

We are going to give the Suns, Giants and Lions as much time as possible to look at their early picks and any deals that we caa do there before we ship off that later pick to the Dogs.

Koby or not Koby?

That is the question.
Whether t'is nobler in the mind, to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous trade requests...

Wondering what we will get for him considering we are getting a packet of chips and can of coke off Norf for Hrovat (3rd and 4th round swaps for next year)

Wonder if we are holding out for pick 36 (we give you Stevens and 43 in that deal) because we will likely pass on pick 50 or give it to Collingwood for Cloke due to minimum turnover this year (no delistees, only one retirement in Minson)

Anyways, you guys have won trade week anyway, some great opportunistic trading going on, your list should have enough depth to climb into the 8 now.

Would be absolutely gob smacked if we gave you a pick in the top 40 for Koby - good back up but not in that value range.

Think the hold up was just waiting to see what our final picks were as it seems we were considering packaging up picks to get into the top 10 and may have needed to keep all picks in order to have more flexibility in the deal. The way the deals are looking to pan out I doubt that happens and we'll be content to hand over pick 50 tomorrow.

Fair enough.

50 is useless for us, guess it helps Collingwood though

Doubt this deal would bother either club much. Improves your position but not ours - think pick 50 should get it done.

Especially since he is not contracted and could basically become a DFA. We're making a habit of getting DFAs on the cheap...hopefully he is as handy as Robbo and Brucey :)

The Koby Stevens deal may have hit a snag late today.
Still working through some last minute scenarios.
May not get him by 2pm deadline tomorrow but will secure him one way or another.

It's worth remembering how ruthless we've been in recent years, Roberton and Membrey were both picked up as DFA after we decided not to part with anything for them. Could very well be angling to do the same here

I think it is important that Saints build some trading integrity. We are starting to see stories now of clubs not wanting to trade with certain other clubs because of poor trade behaviour. I don't think we should bend over but I think we to be fair and I think 50+ for Stevens is fair. Pesronally. I'd like to see us build ties with Doggies over the next few years. The closer the second tier clubs are to each other the harder it is for the big clubs to just do as they please.

And the only reason we didn't get Mav as a DFA was because we only had space on the rookie list, and a DFA can't go there.

I don't think anyone will be comparing Ameet to Dodoro at any stage. It sounded like the trade was organized but both clubs just waiting to see how their other trades were going. The only reason I can see for not giving up 50 at this stage is that we may still have plans for it to be used in another trade. If this doesn't happen I'm sure it'll go to the Bulldogs.
