Hard in and under midfielder i believe should be considered if Josh Thomas gets picked before pick 30. Thoughts?

I don't understand why everyone just assumes that if we don't get Ball, the club has decided that they will go for Josh Thomas, OR that it's a foregone conclusion, OR that that's what we should do.

Is it because Beams is from the same place and looks to be a star in the making and people are seduced into thinking that Thomas is Beams? I don't know much about him to be honest but it doesn't really look like any other club's fans are going on about him to this extent.

Can someone who know his football intimately tell me if he's worth all the hype or someone in the know at Collingwood tell me we are seriously considering him? If not I don't know what all the hype is about.

Thomas is worth pick 30. It will come down to whether or not there is a notable slider in this draft. If Thomas gets selected I certainly would not be disappointed. He is an in and under mid with really nice footskills and has some explosiveness. Could very well become one of the top 20 guys to come out of this draft.

I'd prefer Taylor/ Ball probably, but Thomas would certainly be high on my list of players to pick at pick 30.

If rumour is true, Derek Hine urged him to enter the National Draft ala Dayne Beams last year with the guarantee that we would select him as a minimum.

This is why there is a strong connection between Collingwood and Josh Thomas.

Last year, it proved true in Beamsy's situation.

Time will tell whether this is fact of fiction.
