How many touches did pick 86 get?
lols indeed. Stop being a child.
Used the list space to upgrade a rookie...who more than likely has done more than McKinley

anyway we move on Swallow is one of my favourite WA's to watch play .
There would be more chance of Natanui, Shuey and Darling moving to North.
Don't agree with the bolded at all. Speaking from experience, Richmond had to find out the hard way under Terry Wallace that having a team full of half-back flankers will not win you games and it has crippled our club for years because of it. Thankfully under Hardwick were are drafting in and under types that can win their own footy with our lower picks and will worry about the outside players later. Runners can be found elsewhere or traded for ala Houli, Grigg etc.Amazed that Geelong fans are throwing around Motlop's name.
He had a really promising season. I have learnt two things from this final series, you need a core group of committed ball winners and a sprinkling of game breakers with speed and class. The latter is harder to find, so sacrificing Motlop for a player we could probably find a type of from the State Leagues or second round of the draft would be silly.
Geelong does desperately need some big bodied disciplined workers but let's not sacrifice genuine talent to get them, they should come cheap with canny drafting.
Plus we drafted McKinley ( 29 ) , and Spangher ( 37 ) in front of A Swallow at 43 and to make it worse WCE employed Swallow pre draft in there shop because Swallow was a WCE fanatic and worked for free because he wished to be around the club . Just a thought for all fellow WCE to roll there eyes at , anyway we move on Swallow is one of my favourite WA's to watch play .
I recall there were reasons we overlooked Swallow at that time.
I don't know much about Stringer other than his assault issue but I like Steven Motlop.
I don't think he'd want to move to WA out of the blue though.
Would do it, however would imagine Carlton would want more... Depending on how much more, the Eagles would still certainly consider it imo.How about Kane Lucas from Carlton for Koby Stevens? Seems fair to me. Lucas offers a bit more speed and class outside which the Eagles need whilst Stevens gives the Blues a bit more grunt inside - both high picks that can't get a good run in each team respectively.
Would be a win-win imo
Eagles fans?
Would West Coast do a trade with a pick downgrade i.e. Lucas & Pick #33 for Stevens & Pick #17?Would do it, however would imagine Carlton would want more... Depending on how much more, the Eagles would still certainly consider it imo.
Would West Coast do a trade with a pick downgrade i.e. Lucas & Pick #33 for Stevens & Pick #17?
I doubt our first rounder would be on the table... We don't really need Lucas, as with players like Gaff, Rosa, Masten and Shepard we have the wings / HFF covered. Not sure what the Eagles could offer that would get the deal done, as as such can see Stevens going somewhere for picks / pick upgrades rather than a player.Would West Coast do a trade with a pick downgrade i.e. Lucas & Pick #33 for Stevens & Pick #17?
You can get Lynch for free under FA so don't think that would be considered by Carlton.Or maybe Lucas and Pick #33 for Lynch and Stevens?
Seems fair given Q stick is out of favour and behind Darling/JK in your forward line... Seems fair to me.
and to make it worse WCE employed Swallow pre draft in there shop because Swallow was a WCE fanatic and worked for free because he wished to be around the club .
Wasn't that Trevor Nisbett's nephew Chris Masten that worked in the team store.
Seriously?Would West Coast do a trade with a pick downgrade i.e. Lucas & Pick #33 for Stevens & Pick #17?
Lucas was pick 12 in 2009 [played 18] and Stevens was 23 [played 11]... plus Stevens may demand a trade to come home to VIC which means West Coast may just want to do a deal rather than keep an unhappy player...Seriously?
Wouldn't do pick 17 on its own for Lucas and 33.
It would be a steal for Stevens alone, not a steal for Stevens + 17...Lucas was pick 12 in 2009 [played 18] and Stevens was 23 [played 11]... plus Stevens may demand a trade to come home to VIC which means West Coast may just want to do a deal rather than keep an unhappy player...
Just a thought. Lucas and #33 would be a steal for him imo
I'd like to see a straight swap so long as both players get a decent run as they're both good young players and are highly rated. This would very much depend on what MM thinks of Lucas and where he fits into the team. He could be a replacement for Scotto after next year pending his retirement... so who knowsIt would be a steal for Stevens alone, not a steal for Stevens + 17...
Realistically Carlton would not do a straight swap, so there would need to be a sweetner from the Eagles. Stevens + our second rounder (pick 38?) would probably be unders, but I would imagine our first rounder is off the table under this scenario.
