Lucas was pick 12 in 2009 [played 18] and Stevens was 23 [played 11]... plus Stevens may demand a trade to come home to VIC which means West Coast may just want to do a deal rather than keep an unhappy player...

Stevens and Lucas are of roughly equal value. Lucas probably marginally ahead. But 17 to 33 would be a massive downgrade given the players are more or less on par.

I wouldn't do pick 17 for Lucas and 33. Far too big a downgrade for an unproven player. So pick 17 and Stevens is way over.

Break it down like this. Stevens for pick 33 is about right. So you'd then be getting pick 17 for Lucas, which would be daylight robbery.

lucas has a fantastic kick and has composure that rivals many season veterens, although butter is harder to spread than lucas.

I wouldn't count on this.

We passed on Swallow twice or was it 3 time in the draft. Norths picked him and he's now captain of an AFL club. Had a chance to ask for a trade back but didn't.

Alot would need to go wrong at Norths for Swallow to leave IMO.
