Just a quick post to say how delighted/surprised I've been with the form of Kolo Toure at centre back for Arsenal so far this season.

I must admit I wasn't convinced by the switch at first but he's strong & he's quick which means he can make up for bad positional play & the odd mistake & he's pretty useful at either bringing the ball out from the back or hitting balls to the front men(there was one early on last night where he picked out Henry with a long ball & TH hit a lob that just went wide).

So good stuff Wenger you might just have pulled another one out of the bag here (although the jury's still out at the moment).

Let's see how he goes at Man City this weekend with Sol supsended, he'll have to take on Anelka (you wouldn't expect Keown to try to cope with his pace:eek: )& that'll be a big test for him, should he come through it then hopefully he can nail down the position for the season.

I've said it all along. We're not as bad or going to struggle as much as what everything thinks.

I've also been delighted by Kolo. That Senderos kiddie is supposed to be brilliant. He'll probably start a few games this season. I just hope he doesn't become another Upson.

He's 18 I'd be amazed(going by past record) if AW plays him in any league or CL Games even if SOL & Toure are both out.

Arsenal signed him in Dec of last year and loned him back out to FC Servette for the rest of last season. The kid is going to be a gun. We beat off Real Madrid and PSG for his signature.

He's injured at the moment, but he will start in the Carling Cup games and don't be surprised if he starts on the bench in the CL against Kiev and Moscow and possibly some low key games against rubbish teams like Bolton and Wolves.

I'm aware of how highly rated he is, I'm just pointing out that by past record I don't believe that AW will play him in any league or CL games unless we don't have a chance of winning either of those tournaments.

He may put him on the bench for the odd CL game but don't expect him to get picked for big games this season even if there are injuries, AW has proved that he doesn't trust youth even in attacking positions where it's less of a risk so I can't see him bunging in an 18 year old centre back.

The only one he's given a go was Ashley Cole & even then he came in during a season when Man u were galloping away with the title.

Last year he picked Luhzny at right back ahead of Volz when Lauren was injured & he even picked Toure & Luhzny out of position at left back rather than risk Ryan Garry or Juan(wherever he's disppeared to).

Maybe Senderos will prove to be so good that he'll risk it but I'd be very very surprised, just have a look where Jermaine Pennant is now.

Seriously after what happened to us against Bolton last season do you really think that AW is going to treat matches with them as a walk in the park & think it will be a good game to blood a youngster?
