Both derive their name from here I think. I wonder if he was infamous for signing off his speeches in the same way.

Theodoros Kolokotronis (Greek: Θεόδωρος Κολοκοτρώνης) (3 April 1770 – 4 February 1843) was a Greek Field Marshal and one of the leaders of the Greek War of Independence against the Ottoman Empire.

I assumed our KOLOKOTRONIS took his name from the legendary Greek Field Marshall, Theodoros Kolokotronis, who helped sort out the Ottomans during the War of Independence. I did not Wiki this, I learned it in a Greek language short course. When my Greek teacher was talking about the Field Marshall Kolokotronis, I had a major HA! moment and so it helped me remember it.

I realise this outs me as a nerd, but I'm ok with that.

Sorry Griff. Didn't mean to steal your thunder. Better story than my Googling effort, although I did look it up a couple of months back out of curiosity.
