"The Ugandan army and Sudan People’s Liberation Army are riddled with accusations of rape and looting but Invisible Children defends them" Invisible Children donates $$ to them..

Picture of the 3 creators of KONY ^

Some chick keeps posting it on facebook and someone asked who is he and where is he from and she said "his a rebel from Cambodia" umm.... people are ****ing stupid.

Imagine if the world just stood by when the Holocaust was happening (bit of a different situation but you get the point). "oh if we kill more people by trying to stop it how would this be a positive thing'. Reality is some things need to happen by force and more blood has to be spilt first.

You've just described what happened to the Jews from when Hitler won power to when the Holocaust ended after the Germans bit off more than they could chew. 15 years of nothing.

I wonder how the world would be today if Ghandi and Martin Luther King had embarked on the glorious career path of the armchair cynic?

Probably about as well as they would have gone with the armchair activists.

I support the cause, but I believe with confidence that in 2 weeks this will be forgotten by 95% of the Facebook world

I know that when children are involved it can become emotive, but Kony is by no means alone when it comes to child exploitation, he just isn't part of a Fortune 500 company.

This. I mean the people IC work with in the Ugandan People's Defence Force have used child soldiers. It's not limited to Kony, it's endemic across most of central Africa, both with government forces and rebel armies.

No, he's an egotist.

It's ironic, though. People who hate Australia or the US in Afghanistan or Iraq are obviously supporting this. Yet military deployment to bring down Kony will only result in more warfare – and thus, more collateral damage.

Double standards.

It's very unfortunate. But this all seems like a pissweak attempt to do something sincere. It's pack mentality. I see this whole campaign as just boring and not really sincere.

Well, please, with your infinite wisdom, attempt to find a solution instead of doing a Tony Abbott. So if this is pissweak, what does it make what you're doing?

Africa has limited oil, therefore the West usually doesn't care.

Mining resources is has though, not to mention it's an untapped Western trade front with close range shipping access to southern Europe. Something the Chinese are on to.

Yes very true. However, only the Chinese seem remotely interested - just have a look at Botswana's boom.

Defintaly 95% of people will forget in 2 weeks. That means it may have had enough of an impact to make 5 % of people to care or act your saying?

In the first day the video has had 15,000,000 hits. Thats still 750,000 will care or act.

Besides is it not better to be aware and for people to give a shit for just 2 weeks than not care or know about it at all?

Most people sit by why a small few act. Its easy to just turn off your TV and stick your head in the sand everytime something horrible happens overseas, shit I do it all the time, everyone does it.

A small few cant stick their head in the sand though and want to do what they can to help. While I may not agree with everything his organisation does. And obviously the world is a very very complex place. But I think every human has a basic sence of right and wrong and if someone wants to dedicate himself to something that he thinks is so obvious wrong then good on him. Obviously your capable (like 99.99% of people) to go on with your life without trying to at least do something, he is not.

The video is being shown on Channel 10 now.
