I congratulate the mens hockey team. It was a shame to see them go down in a penalty shoot out. I play hockey myself and penalty shots are a shocking way to end a match.

That happened to me last year and believe me,it will take a while to get over it.

Although I feel even more for Livingstone who was the one that actually missed the shot. At least I've never been in that position.

I see you play hockey as well Richmondfan, in perth as well. What team you play for? I play for Wesley and Wasps. I fortunately never have had to do a penalty shootout, a method I do not think is effective either as it means the better team on the day can also be beaten. Playing extra time or another game at a further time makes more sense to me.

Visro,
I play for Whitfords.
I hate penalty shoot outs and never want to do another one again. We had to have extra time, 2 periods of 7 and a half minutes but we still had to do penalties. Exactly like the hockeyroos.

I also played in a losing grand final this year and it took a few days to get over it as we hadn't been beaten throughout the whole year.

They aren't the international Colliwobbles, because even Collingwood eventually won something.

The should change their name to the Cats, that would be more appropriate!

Hey fellow Hockey players!!!

It was a good effort by the team and they did as best they could but were beaten by the damn system in the end! I have read someone suggested that after the two 7 and a half minute time on periods a player off each team should be taken off the field at time increments until one team scores. Sounds more fair than placing all emphasis on one player and a goalie. Interesting concept well worth a look at.

Oh and by the way, his name is Livermore, not Livingstone or whatever you wrote
