17 possessions and two goals, showed some good signs today. Hopefully Kosi can build on this and have a solid second half of the year, very important for St.kilda's chances in 2010.

Kosi again improved this week.

however, is there a concern for the report? will he get 2 weeks becuase of of carried over points?

huge factor
Didn't put a foot wrong
star

I would probably suggest that the 3 free kicks he conceded were pretty sloppy, and the one he was reported for was completely unnecessary. A few missed targets with the handballs and my view (expressed fairly loudly at the pub ) is that every full forward should kick those goals from close in.

But I'm happy that he is starting to impact games again and lay some form of defensive pressure (haven't seen much of this to date in the season).

another good sign is his contested marking looks to be getting back (stats read a solid 4)

big Kozzman is shaping up to be a pretty good targert inside 50 this last couple of weeks, hopefully this break will get him right for the revenge match two weeks time.

Was very good and loved how he was getting on his bike to lead up the ground. Hopefully he can continue this form against the Cats because by God we'll need him.

Geez - keep your pants on, guys!

Kosi is flying under the radar.

I think we rotate him on Blake. Blake has given it to King in the past and we really need to stop him.

Think it's a given based on his game on the weekend.

He managed 5 hitouts during his short burst in there on the weekend (only one behind McEvoy) and looked to be enjoying himself.

I am beginning to suspect he would love to play an Ottens like ruck/forward, but plays FF for team structure because he is a team player our Kosi.

not a bad grab, considering he was infringed un fairly as usual.

I have a good feeling he'll be up and about when we play Geelong coming up, starting to pull toghethor some good games, hopefully this break will fuel him and set him up for the next half of the season

Anyone got news on Kosi's contract negotiations/status? He's out at the end of this year.

I Agree absolutely. He's too old and once Rhys Stanley gains some experience he'll fit the mould well.:footy:

Rhys Stanley is still intended to be a ruck in future I would hope ( This is surely the last season for King, and Gardiner is no spring chicken, and Pattison is a great VFL player ).

Maybe Cahill or Lynch can play forward better than Kosi in the long term, but its not the long term yet. Its certainly not his AGE that is the problem. I think its a bit soon to state that he is gone.

Notwithstanding the conditions, that was a very poor display of body positioning and second efforts. Just let Lonergan dictate play from the front and there were far too many no contests. Got very frustrated with that performance. McEvoy goes forward, plays in front and draws the free (and should have got a second).

Yep, Stanley didn't really rip it either, but in terms of attitude, ferocity and attack at the footy, Stan the Man creamed Kosi tonight. Kosi, yet again, was rather embarrassing. The good things from his game were that little bit in the ruck - but that was so Macca and Gards could actually do his job in the forward-line; and his crash in the pack that led to a Schneider goal. But overall, ordinary.

Was ordinary but i think a rotational role for Kosi, Gardy & Macca through the ruck and rest down forward is the best option for the big man and for the team.

He may have struggled in the forward line, but so did just about every other tall forward on both sides.

But he was good when he played a sort of second ruck / rover role around the ground and played his part in somehow keeping the ball away from Selwood.

Stats don't always describe the whole story, but consider this in comparison to the other three big men (Gardiner / McEvoy / Stanley):

- he had more tackles (3) than Stanley / McEvoy / Gardiner (1 each)

- he had more 1%ers (4) than Gardiner (3), McEvoy (1) and Stanley (0 !)

- he had more marks (3) than the Stanley and McEcoy (2 each) (Gardiner 8)

- he had more contested marks (2) than McEvoy (1) and Gardiner (0) (Stanley 2)

- he had more possessions (11) than McEvoy (7) and Stanley (6) (Gardiner 16)

- he had more contested possessions (5) than McEvoy (4) and Gardiner (2) (Stanley 6)

- he had the same amount of hitouts as McEvoy (5 each) (Gardiner 16)

He has improved every week now and is starting to run into some form - just in time for the finals !?

You make a lot of sense HM.

Second week running he has had an equivalent input in the hitouts as Ben, difference being he only played there a total of 10 minutes.

I have been very nice in this thead thus far, but I really think some supporters need to get of his back.

His effort has been enormous, luckily Ross can see and appreciate this.

Do you honestly think so PS?

He was the best tall forward out there in those conditions, easily.

I'm quite surprised by those stats, he didn't seem to figure in the game to that extent at all. I hope he can kick some goals soon as a forward that's a stat that he is truly lacking in.

i was gonna say, i thought he played a strong game as a target. He really did try hard and in those terrible conditions probably the best tall forward of the game (Pods or Moons did close to nothing) I have a really good feeling that once Rooey returns within the next 3 weeks, we will see the best of Kozi once again :thumbsu:
