Hi, not trying to start a war here, I thought Walker's mark was the pick of them, but I seriously cannot believe how much it's bothering you Carlton supporters and how upset you guys are getting over it. It's sad really. MOTY and GOTY are the single two most irrelevant and unimportant awards you can get. I know if I were a Carlton supporter although I'd be surprised by the decision I really wouldn't be too phased. I'm sure even Walker couldn't give two shits he didn't win it.

It is a pointless, unimportant accolade and I cannot understand why it matters so much to you guys. Just my two cents worth.
I can understand where you are coming from seeing as Collingwood supporters have never had the us against them attitude.Never.But seeing as its so unimportant ,you are a Collingwood supporter ,I feel a need to ask..Why are you here??

Krakouer is this year's feel good story in the eyes of the AFL. Does time in prison for a brutal assault, gets released, plays in a WAFL premiership team & then gets recruited by the reigning AFL premiers & walks straight into their 18.

Any success for Krakouer on his return to the AFL makes up for the minimal impact Cousins' recruitment by Richmond had on the Tigers' fortunes. The AFL is big on atonement for those who have lost their way, but who are part of the AFL community.

(* Just posted this in the main board as well *)

What a joke. So you get a prize for 4th best Mark of the Year ?

The guy I feel sorry for is Andrew Krakouer. He seems a pretty humble guy, and whilst I'm sure he's happy to get a car (or whatever the prize is), every time Walkers mark is replayed - which it will - he's going to feel uncomfortable about it and perhaps a little embarrassed. Not his fault !

Krakouers was a great mark but you see those sort of marks at least three or four times a year.

Anyone who has played football will tell you the degree of difficulty with Walkers was much higher. Krakouers was running straight and into a pack and your momentum just takes you up.

Walkers was all leap and had to twist. It was something special, it was unique and one you only see, maybe once every 5 years.

(similarly Pettards was great in this respect as well).

In years to come, when people start to put together their 'Marks of the Decade' or Top 5 marks of all time, it will be Walkers mark that will feature in these lists - not Krakouers.

God help us if Fev gets another crack, he'll get GOTY with a set shot from the goalsquare.

AFL has outed themselves as a joke of an organisation.
The AFL has just outed themselves as being Eddie Everywhere's ****ing playthings... I am waiting now for the Brownlow where they say that getting reported doesnt exclude you now from winning it and give it to Daisy Thomas after a recount and automatically awarding him 3 votes retrospectively for each of the 3 matches he missed through suspension.

Daisy Thomas misses 3 weeks for cowardly sniping hits and still manages to get picked in the AA team while Scotland doesnt miss a week and is Mr Consistency across the halfback line and doesnt get the nod.

The AFL as a whole are corrupt and are the best administration money can buy.

Not trolling here, this link was posted on a collingwood board and after reading some comments I felt compelled to say something. Of course, I will no doubt be verbally abused for it by the lesser Blues fans.

I know you guys are desperate to win something. I can understand that, losing a semi final the way you guys did cuts deep, we know all about it. Walker's mark was a ripper and nobody really could split all three marks. But to say Krak's mark was shit and ordinary is below even Carlton supporters. Were you all screaming shananigans when Judd won a highly contentious brownlow last year, knocking off Ablett & Swan who had better years?? Nope! Krak took a fantastic pack mark and deserves his award. I'm not looking to start a email fight here, it is not my style, just give some credit where it is due, it is just common courtesy.

I think only Posiedon has given Krak some credit, very intelligent poster.

The hatred for collingwood sometimes seems endless and often uncalled for. There is a time to have a go and a time to dip your hat.....
If you are not trolling, you are straddling the line with your choice of words.

Desperate to win something? Below even Carlton supporters? You know what you are doing and I will thank you not to return.

Good year from us but it seems we have been royally shafted in the last couple of weeks.
  1. Gibbs out with an innocuous shoulder injury
  2. Kreuzer out with a mysterious numb leg injury
  3. the shocking umpiring on Saturday night
  4. Thornton knocking himself out leaving us a tall down
  5. Walker misses AA squad and MOTY
  6. Scotland misses AA side completely while Robert Murphy and Drew Petrie make it??
  7. Juddy gets Vice Captain behind the captain of the wooden spoon team.
  8. Murphy in AA side as a HFF

Jesus christ, could be worse though - We could be the bombers:D

It is a pointless accolade usually, but in this case it involved a player that has struggled to stay on the park, who has been much maligned as a number 2 draft pick, on the verge of being traded, and what's more in his first ever game, he failed to hang on to what would have been mark of the year and he was annointed most likely to win it one day.

It is a reward for him and those who believed in him. The symbolism is more than with any other player in this case.

This is the mark the AFL community at large seemed to believe was the best and it didn't get up.

On top of a 3 point semi final loss with dubious umpiring, Scotland not getting AA despite being in probably half of the teams on BF, and Judd voted best captain by his peers, reduced to VC so the feel good GC franchise option could get a gong, it hasn't been a good week.

Hell, even Murphy who was leading the coaches award before it went into top secret mode after round 20, can only get a gong on the half forward flank, reduced to being the 6th best midfielder this year, maybe lower.

Ahahahha Krakouer's mark was mediocre compared to Walker's, and that is the consensus of any right-minded individual. He couldn't even kick the goal after the mark, whereas Tex did.

Absolute joke, walker hands down mark of the decade let alone the year and robert murphy over scotland wtf is going on and judd voted MVP a players choice award won by 900 votes, but obviously that doesn't mean he'd be respected enough by the players as captain, give me a break

I know it's been a bad week and all these things not going our way is starting to sting, but there is one thing that I will look forward to and that is the day we win the premiership. All of this won't matter, we will be sitting pretty with number 17 very soon and the pinheads in charge of these "awards" can get stuffed!

I didn't rate NicNats that highly, not sure why, just didn't look as spectacular, Walkers was mark of the year, the MOTY commitee made a controversial call, everyone's talking about it and that is what they want, if Walker won it no one would say anythng, it's the way the world is going, ridiculous decision.

He won 50% of the public vote.

I guess someone edited the votes to ty the results so they could give it to Krakouer...

KB being on the panel is a guaranteed non-vote I'm afraid. Massive Carlton hater.
Krakouer was in the box seat.

Krakouer's former coach Danny Frawley may have been on the panel too.
