I dont think anyone disagrees with the call that he MUST step up
and begin to constantly play like his old man did.

We've all seen flashes of brilliance, now its time for a season of brilliance.
Im not saying we will make finals as a result ,but he owes it to a lot of people
to find the right balance for him to become the superstar he is capable of.

Obvious mentor for young Richard.

Needs to build up his body to the max.

i'm not sure if it's possible for him to be consistently brillant every week like his father - alot to do with the way the game has changed and became more technical since those days. i think its more reasonable to expect him to continue to be consistent and flashy.

He's still too young to be consistent, he was always going to be a project player
Don't blame Krak or the RFC for his salary, blame the AFL for the minimum TPP
While I am certain $250k is the MAXIMUM he can earn (not his base salary), we still have to be over the 92.5% which would be the main reason for how high it is.
Lets hope there is a clause in there which has it front loaded for future years when we'll need the room

b) what other players on our lists recieve this much money and on other lists - so to compare if this is a high amount for someone of his level. david bourke was on $220,000 when he was still at richmond, and krak is 300times better than he was - i'd prefer Krak to be on this sort of salary than a chaffey, tivendale, hilton, hartigan, knobel, morrison, Hall, Graham, Hyde, and all the other players simialr age and below to Krak. Krakour is a good clubman, a good role model(unlike many footy players), and a dedicated member of our lists. i've never had a reason to doubt his courage nor passion and IMO he was one of the only players last year who actually stood up when everyone else laid down. That sort of effort and loyalty and pride in such a low time for the club - deserves to be rewarded - and remembered by all.

does Newman recieve a similar amount? as i would rate those two of similar status?

Someone made a good point earlier that the salaries of our players need to be compared to other players in the afl, not other tigers (especially not mistakes in the past like Bourke). It would be interesting to see what other players are on a similar deal.

Thing is that is important with Krak is he can turn a match and do the things which will win you a game. he is creative and creative players who can actually pull off the things they are trying to create - aren't easy to find. especially consistent ones, which i do believe Krak is. He may not do the magic every single week, but he puts in his bit AT LEAST every single week.

He probably can, but other then the match against Essendon when he kicked 5 when was the lsat time he turned a match.

Anway hopefully with the pressure of a new coach and with Tambling trying to get a full time berth in the seniors he take his game to the next level.

if theres to be a new culture at this club i say we all have a responsibility to change as well, i'd like to propose that we get behind every player that takes the field in tiger jumper but somehow that seems like a forerign task for your average tiger supporter, so keep talkin it up guys n gals, because everyone knows thats all we're good at and you know thats all your good for.

Spot on - well said ;)

I can't believe people are having a discussion about a players wage on a internet forum.

Disgraceful behaviour

I should feel ashamed of myself for wanting to logically discuss a players worth to the side.

Slacker????

IIRC, he was top 10 tackles in the AFL?

Yep 7th in the AFL for total tackles, 10th for average tackles.

Comparing to his dad is a mistake, and thinking of him as a goalkicker is probably a mistake too. He is our rover and the intensity is OK, he just has to get the ball more than 12 times a game.

Probably not worth the money he is getting but i still love him and he would always be in my starting 18

The league minimum wage for a guy who has completed 2 years is -

Base - $51,500
Senior match - $2,200 x 22 = $44,000

So $100k is the effective minimum wage for a guy like Krakouer who will play every week.

Throw in a bonus if he makes the top 10 in the B+F, a bonus for playing more than 20 games, a payment for marketing work, a bonus for making the finals etc and he could earn the $250, he will probably earn closer to $200k though which is high, but not eye-catching.

I am very concerned. Today at Morwell, he was so slow, even Richo outran him. Isn't he supposed to be one of our quickest?

No, I don't think anyone rates his speed, certainly not one of his strengths. Has that very laid back style to everything he does, even when he's laying tackles all over the place.

About once or twice a game Krakouer will do something that is special that leaves you wondering how good he could be.

But thats not often enough. He needs to lift his intensity and consistency to the level his father and uncle had and shake off the potential tag....QUOTE]

I agree on the consistency issue. He has been in the system for a number of years now...make or break year for him. He certainly has the skills...just needs to turn it on a little more regularly.

lol not anymore. who is the slowest player at Richmond? as they would still out run krakouer. He might have good skills but to play this game at the highest level you gotta be quick something he is not.
