Look I was going to be a smart arse and bang on about Cotchin.

But I won't. Instead I will just say this: Kreuzer, you need to lift son. 12 possessions and 4 marks a game isn't good enough. Two goals in five weeks even less so. The one per centers are good but finding the footy and kicking goals is better.

Find some tricks kid. For gods sake.

Yep, agreed. We should just cut our losses right now and see if we can get some value out of him.

Mid-Late first rounder and I'm sold.

Great Player Cotchin but think about this. The time Cotchin is 27 or 28 and Kreuzer , one will be half way in his career, while the other will be near the end of it. Richmond football will probably cost him a few years of football that he would have played. I can see Kreuzer possibly playing till his 33 like Justin Madden and others have.

Don't lose the faith on this guy, yes his stats are rarely exciting but even now when he's not getting heap of touches he's having impact. Just look at the votes thread of each week...more often than not Kreuz is featured in the votes.

Look we all love him but statistically he has been poor since round 1 he needs to get more ball. His effort has been great his work around the packs great and his ruckwork in round 3 was great. However he needs to win more easy ball.

BEFORE YOU SCREAM YES I LOVE HIM, BUT HE IS NOT PLAYING ANYWHERE NEAR THE ELITE LEVEL I WAS HOPING HE WOULD BE.

At the moment he is a good player and Cotchin is a superstar, Kruz has the potential to be an elite player but he doesn't appear to be able to get easy kicks like dean cox whom I would hope he models his game on.

When I watch Kruz I always think with his mobility and ability he should be easily able to rack up 20 possesions, without checking the stats i don't think he has had 20 touches this year in a game.

The game against Sydney last year was the closest he has been to playing at the level I hoped.

OMG, Cotchin the midfielder gets more ball than Kreuzer the ruckman.

Terrible indictment on Kreuzer considering ruckmen hit their peak far earlier than midfielders.

Before I forget .... Rich >> Yarran
Don't get defensive we all love Kruz but to be entirely honest he isn't reaching the heights we would of hoped.

Your comparison re Rich vs Yarran is meaningless as that was what some people were saying in year one but we are now in year 4 of the Kruz vs Cotchin comparison.

It is an interesting point wonder would we be a better side with Warnock and Cotchin in and Kruz out?

Yes I love Kruz and yes I would still pick him with our first pick and yes he is under achieving at this stage.

I think we should be mindful the boy had a year out of the game with a knee op though. I'm no medical professional but someone with his man mountain of a body and someone who, to me, seems like the type of player who enjoys continuity in his game I think he WILL get there, but it would have set him back a bit. He's still very young too.

And as I said earlier, he's hardly spudding it up.

I love the little things that he does around the contest that seems to sometimes go unnoticed. I love the way that after a stoppage he contests the ball and sometimes even provides a block or makes room for Judd and Murph to clear the ball out of the pack.

I also love the way he tackles in close forcing the ball loose and the way he manages to stick a hand in and force an interception more often than not.

And this my field is why SuperCoach can be a TERRIBLE thing for football ...............

Watch the game and see how Kreuzer influences the game outside of stats and you will see why Kreuzer was taken at #1. God it was only a couple of weeks ago that Kreuzer (and Hampson) were talked up as the dominant ruck duo in the league, while Cotchin was an accumulator who didn't hurt opposition. Now Kreuzer is crap and Cotchin elite :rolleyes:

Silly comment the opening post is not saying that, but surely most would agree he isn't playing as well as we would of hoped. Don't forget his form pre the knee injury last year wasn't great.

At the moment he is a good solid AFL player with a great attitude however as mentioned given his ability it is frustrating he isn't dominating the competition.

Personally I think he will be the best ruckman in the AFL at some stage, and at the moment he is along way from that level.

I also love the fact that, though it rarely gets noticed for some reason, he has absolutely fantastic hands in terms of ball handling and hand balls, especially for a ruckman. Up there with any mid going round for mine.

Yep we all do as well.

Ideally he could compliment that with some more uncontested ball and maybe some more contested marks and then he will go from a good solid player to the elite ruckman we need to win the flag.

Are expectations a tad high? Seems like we are looking for more negatives. I'm pretty happy with his first five games so far and he's definitely going better than last year. Give him time.

It's threads like these that just make you sigh and shake the head.

Unfortunately, fantasy sports is largely responsible for many losing the ability to identify a good player from one that gets plenty of stats.

My advice is to actually watch a game rather than relying on the stats sheet to formulate your opinion of a player.

You are either seriously lacking an understanding of football, or your expectations are simply way too high. Either way, this is a terrible thread.
