I detest the man but i guess it just goes to show;
winners can laugh and losers can please themselves.

Credit where it is due for Kroger, when he has suffered a loss he has done the hard yards under the spotlight so i cannot begrudge him his night of enjoyment.

A vile horrid smug man, who in antoher life was most likely a member of the Hitler Youth. Have had the distinct displeasure of being seated next to him at a dinner function. Arrogant is another word that crossed my mind.

At least the ABCs boardcast was balanced and considered. From what I saw Ch 9 was one long Lib orgy of gloating.

Each of his comments were fantastic, shoved the result in the face of all Labor supporters. Made what was really a boring election interesting to watch

You are one lucky motherfu***r!

Seriously though BlueMark, you should get out of this country while you can. Now that we've got a majority in the senate, we're going to throw you and your type into the detention centres where you belong.

My favourite part with Kroger was when he said 'Wayne Swann was predicting a backlash against Howard and Costello. Howard has had a swing for him in Bennelong, Costello likewise.' Then he gave this smirk to the cameras. It almost brought tears to my eyes, thinking of how significant that was. He really shoved it up the ALP tonight, our Kroger.

Ahh Kroger.. that's who that guy was.

I loved it when they were talking to Stott Despoja (spelling?) and the look he gave her was priceless.

Democrats.. what a worthless insignificant party.. the tree huggers got more votes.

Even the Labour guy looked smug for the first time all night talking to the democrats's.

Absolute disaster for the pseudo left.

Worse for the future of Labor, cos Latham ended up embracing the pseud position.

Bob Brown will put a spin on it, but the Greens did badly. They only picked up the collapsing Democrat vote. They could only get one new Senator up, instead of the three they were hoping for.

It's distinctly possible that the Govt will have a majority in the Senate.

The FFP has now emerged as the counterweight to the Greens, replacing the Dems.

The Libs get Malcom Turnbull, we get Peter Garrett. However detestable and odious Turnbull is , he is a heavyweight. Garrett will only alienate the mortgage belt even more than they obviously are already.

The media had blahed so much about Turnbull losing. In the end he won comfortably.

Wilkie got 17 per cent of the vote in Benelong. But Howard only got a 3.5 swing against him. Where did the bulk of Wilkie's vote come from? It must have been the Labor Party. Unreal.

The result in Victoria ... unbelievable. There was a time not so long ago when the john howardl Lies campaign would have got some traction in Victoria (as it should have. Instead we went the other way.

If Labor continues to clamp itself to the Greens and pseudo left, the Coalition will be entrenched for the next 10 years minimum.

It's a tragedy, because Latham had so much promise. I was going to vote for him myself, even with my national security reservations. But the unbelievable political stupidity of his blanket endorsement of the Green old growth position reminded me that he'd chosen to go pseud. So I did my normal "informal" vote.

Now watch for comfortable W win to cap it off.

He sounds like Mal Brough, I have had the misfortune to have met him at about 10 functions in the last 4 years, and boy is he arrogant. He looks down his nose at everyone. Its a disgrace as he is representing us,and we voted him in.oiiiii.

Kroger was responsible for the best line of the night

"The ALP have never lost an election in their history, it's always somebody elses fault"

How true it was after seeing Crean, Beazley & that Mike Kaiser bloke blaming everybody but themselves

Brough is a discriminator. He made an enemy out of me for life when he remarked during a debate on the Youth Allowance back in the late 1990's that if a person didn't have social skills, he wouldn't employ them. As social skills are a weakness for AS sufferers like myself, he effectively said he wouldn't employ any of us because of our disability. I was in the public gallery at the time, and I nearly yelled out "Discriminator!" The only reason I didn't was because I would have been ejected if I had.

Not only was it the best line it was also the truest of the night. The only person on the left side of politics that I have seen come anywhere near to some real analysis of why Labor have again lost is Stephen Smith. Thank god Labor don't have the foresight to elect him as the leader because he is the only one who seems to be facing up to the reality of their problems.

Can you be part of the arresting party, or do you need to send your bully boys in to do your dirty work for you? Tell you what deport me to Palestine, don't think the thugs from the IDF will like having to go up against someone who knows what they are doing.

The comment re the umbrella in antoher thread was right on the money MillerCHF.

Ooo, ooo, ooo!!!

I like to see that

Take up a collection, Miller, I'll toss in.

My money would be on the IDF in less than five minutes.

Don't worry Jane given that you marched in the anti Vietnam marches, you will be next on the list. Miller only wants TRUE believers and you blotted your copy book years ago.

Actually I think Miller really wants to establish a Jew only Zionist state right here in Melbourne. He really does not like Gentiles. Unless they are Zionists of course, and then he barely tolerates them.

Naughty but true Tim 56

I was wondering on my way home tonight if Miller will want Gas Chambers installed in the detention camps. You know given how right wing the guy is.

Does he sleep with Gentiles to punish them like you do with Jewish women?!?

Kroger has always given me the ********s I must say, typical victorian wasp trash.

Smug as the rest of those spineless chumps. Was richo around on the 9 coverage? He would have livened things up a bit.

No. Richo has some Swiss Bank Account issues to be worried about, and probably wont be seen on TV again.

His replacement Robert Ray hwoever was a breath of fresh air, and sometimes quite amusing. He and Kroger bounced off each other quite well.

Vanstone came out with a few good lines, Nataasha Spott-Destroyer was rather uninteresting and poor old Wayne Swan seemd to have problems removing the distinct taste of lemon from his mouth.

Contrary to the views of many, I found channel 9 far more entertaining - with the obvious exception of Ray.

I flicked for most of the night. McMullin and Minchin were as boring as S$%t, Kerry O'Brien could barely conceal his disappointment, though Anthony Green was, as always, superb.

Wasn't it great to watch, he had his red tie on and all, at one point it looked as if he was about to cry when the size of the defeat was becoming obvious. GOLD! :D
