Deserves all the accolades he gets - to do what he has done over such a long time is outstanding.

What folly is that he came into a strong traditional Carlton football club that suddenly underwent their worst period in their history due to no fault of his own.
342 games and where does he rank amongst Carlton’s greats? He often had to lift Blues across the half back while completely annihilated. Unfair assessment on his career given he hardly made finals. Just a shame the conceding of his and Carlton’s fortunes.
That’s exactly what came to mind. Many players don’t even play 215 games. To have that many losses instead is a testament of his character and resilience. Ultimately his driving force was the premiership, success. Unfortunately just wasn’t enough of it during his time.Yep timing his club/career was his only real mistake, not that you really have any control over that.
It meant he holds the unenviable AFL record of having played in the most losses - 215 in all. If that isn't a testament to his grit and determination I don't know what is.
Absolute gun. What’s surprising is that players that will have produced his numbers in their first couple of seasons - 6 games, 12 touches (none in the first 3 games) - these days, often get the axe.
Gotta realise that was back when high interchange rotations were not a thing yet, new players often did not get much time on the ground at the start of their careers.
