read this too. seems very reactionary for some reason. there's some bowlers with worse actions historically that've been cleared.

crock of shit

Another Joel Wilson special?

I thought it looked a bit dodgy at times but nowhere near what Chris Green gets away with.
If he does get a ban or needs to remedy his mechanics youd rather he gets pulled up now than in the middle of the Ashes or a BGT series.

I think he is a chucker, but not so much that he will fail a controlled test.

And once he's completed that, nobody will be able to call him a chucker with any credibility.

So all the pre-emptively outraged nuffies who think he is bambi that needs to be protected from an investigation should realise that this will probably work in his favour.

Cricket Australia's statement

"The Australian team was notified of the match officials' referral following the second Test against Sri Lanka in Galle and will support Matt through the process of clearing this matter."

"Matt has played 124 professional matches since his debut in 2017, including five Test matches and four one-day internationals. He has played 55 Big Bash League games since 2018. This is the first time in those eight years of professional cricket that his action been questioned."

"Cricket Australia will liaise closely with the ICC and independent experts in line with ICC regulations. No further comment will be made by Cricket Australia or Matthew until the matter is resolved."

so given they had the same match referee for both Tests, are they saying his bowling action was suspect in both tests OR had deteriorated between tests 1 and 2?

ugly bowling action in terms of the bent arm straightening

if my understanding of the term "horizontal" is correct, horizontal behind his body, he does bend and then straighten his arm by 40 degrees

He definitely chucks it, but they bend* the rules for subcontinental players, so they should do it for him.

*apologies... they hyperextend the rules.

I have noticed a bit of straightening but not in the same league as Murali. How could anyone be banned after him?
4 people were banned the month he retired.
