Yes I agree, Blucher will end up worse off, Sydney will bounce back. Blucher may find he is no longer wanted as a player manager.

The other alternative to the PSD is that if other clubs feel the trade to Sydney is unravelling, they may step in with a more suitable offer to Adelaide. Brisbane is very keen, what’s to stop them coming to the table with pick 8 and a “homesick” Adelaide boy? I’m sure Tippet could find some family and friends in Brisbane to justify the move further north…

oh look <- Post 1000
Well they can have him at pick 8 mate we wont get close to that nor would we try :)

Ok then mate. Will be talking to you next year (hope you listen up good) when Tippett is taking a defender or two off of him and he no longer has to somehow overcome 3 guys hanging all off him every contest. this is after this years efforts after playing most of the year with a shoulder niggle and still managing basically the same output as Tippett even given he is approx. 5 years younger...... The real value of Reid is clear to see. Particularly compared to Tippett IMO.
Righteo mate...:thumbsu:

No player lost but your reputation as solid trader and negotiator will be in tatters. If this trade falls through, Sydney will have egg on its face as it will be obvious that your club did not perform any due diligence prior to the announcement and took Blucher on his word regarding Tippets contract.

I hope we can negotiate a win/win for both clubs, but I would rather Tippet have the indignity of going to the PSD than Adelaide accept pick 22 and a spud. He did not have the courage to be honest with his teammates and club, so why should we assist him with moving to a premiership rival? Adelaide would be better served if he ends up in GC or GWS.
We pulled out of a deal with spider Everitt in 2005 and it didn't hurt our reputation. In fact hawthorn came out looking more unreasonable than us.

On the other point, how should Sydney have done its due diligence without flagging to the world back in August that we were looking at Tippett.

Have you watched any SANFL this season?

Its an opinion mate. Everyones got one. I thought Johnston was quite immpressive this year. As did many fellow crows supporters.
(i) Why would I watch that shit? I'd rather watch the AFL, the competition Johnston wasn't good enough to play this year and White was!

(ii) Clearly your spelling isn't!

Reid is contracted for 5 yeas so we can ask what we like and hold out for 5 years until we get it.

Tippett has left the crows. Marcus Ashcroft of the GCS said on SEN this morning that they have moved on. So that leaves Sydney and Brizzy. So no where near the bargaining power.

I hope you ask to much and we go elsewhere. Brizzy will get him in the PSD.

We are your best chance of getting close to his value, unless he decides its all too hard and goes to qld or if GWS were to enter the market.

Both unlikely

Do you honestly think they are the only parties keen on Tippett? Seriously..

Getting pick 22 and 40-50 is basically nothing. I'm just telling you Adelaide wont give you Tippett for nothing.

He may be younger but for most of the year Reid was pretty average and didn't so a lot. Tippett at this stage is far better then Reid. You will realise this next year if he goes to Sydney. That is also counting all of Tippetts concussion effected games so the stats are largely skewed.

They wont give him nothing but if the deal isnt super you want them to let him go into the draft for nothing

If johnston is so good then you can lose on this trade, we clearly traded the next tony lockett for armstrong
No one is suggesting that Johnston is a superstar, just that he is a serviceable player who should get some more AFL gametime next year. Jesse White would make a very good A-grade suburban footballer, so no, the Crows do not want him as part of the Tippett trade

There would have to be. Although the 3rd parties wouldn't mean much anyway if Sydney aren't willing to give up anything of value.

Yes but if Reid was in a similar position. Say he said I wanna go home to Collingwood and play with my brother. what would you expevt? Although Tippett is clearly only going to Sydney for the money so I doubt he would be too fussed about going to the suns or lions. Also Melbourne or GWS would take Tippett in the PSD if he was to go there.

Reid is on a 5 year deal, we dont have trade thats the difference, we could send him home if we chose, but we wont lose out, tippett is uncontracted its not comparable

Actually, I'm suggesting Johnston is a superstar. The kid has much more natural talent then Kurt Tippett.

Go back to the day he was traded - Swan supporters were fuming. Rightfully so as well, he will hold his value in due time. Can't say the same about T.Armstrong.

What were his AFL stats?
Only played one game due to us having Tippett and Walker so it wasn't an easy gig being a KPF at Adelaide.

Where did I say he is so good or the next lockett? I simply said he was better then White which he is.

I dont think they will trade away a trade they dont like based on the notion of protecting a reputation

That's right you can't because you can't see the future. IMO Armstrong is going to play a greater role in the 2013 Swans side and I hope to see him become (over the next few years) an important player in much the same mould as a Malceski. However I cannot see into the future and he may not get another game ever again get traded to StKilda and eventually get selected as an AA ruck... Who knows right? I wasn't happy about losing Johno but at the end of the day it has all worked out. We are the 2012 Premiers for many reasons and one of the most important is our ability to handle ourselves in the trade period and offseason. I will again lay full trust in our recruiters to do the right thing as they have done so many times before.

Can you confirm the logic in case i misread

Crows fans say tippett is ahead of reid he has played more etc

Johnston who played 3 games i think none yet for crows is however better than white because of potential?

Is this correct?

Had a look myself. One game, 7 touches, 0 goals, subbed out.
White only managed 3 games in your forward line, which left abit to be desired in KPF stocks. Johnston consistently performed in the SANFL kicking bags of 4 and 5. I look forward to him and Jenkins becoming consistent members of the 22 next year.

Lewis Johnston played 20 games out of 24 & finished runner up in the SANFL leading goal kicker, kicking 57goals, 2 behinf the leader who played all 24matches. The kid will make tye crows side next season, knocking on thye door behind Josh Jenkins who will be stepping in to tippetts spot.

Yep, I was incorrect, he did play a game before being subbed off for being a shit footballer. And suggesting that he is better than White is clear delusion as he simply does not have the experience and stats to back that up.
