Totally over this. IF he had decided to go to another club we would have no shit going into the trades. Now we have this shitstorm regarding money, trades etc. This has totally soured our premiership win for me,and a lot of our loyal players are probably getting nervous about their future at the club. Kurt Tippett go away!!

I bet Sydney rate tippet higher than wc rate wellingham....wellingham was also out of contract and requesting a trade to wc...exact same situation

Other trades have f all to do it with it

You might get way better you might get shafted but quit trying to draw magical links when you ignore others that dont sport your argument

Crows fans argue a point as a fact thats all that annoys me, we may well trade half the side but dont tell us your theories as facts when you dont list to a contrary view

Wow Adelaide posters have to be some of the most deluded on this site.
They dont appear so bad during the season, but they still have some delusion that they are going to get evens or overs for a player who has walked out on their club.

I can understand they dont want to get shafted, but seem to think that we from a position of strength are going to trade away players of the quality of Reid to satisfy a Tippett trade...

Pure insanity.

Holy shit guys, I just realised.... we spoke to Tippett's management in August.... Ben Reid, after much speculation that he might come to the Swans, re-signed with the Pies in August. In fact, Kurt Tippett put off contract talks on the 21st of August, and Reid re-signed on the 22nd (at least, this was when they were reported).

What are the chances we were looking into Reid, but then made an offer to Tippett, who accepted, so we told Reid's manager that we weren't interested any more (no cap space for both Tippett AND Reid), who subsequently took Collingwood's offer. Just speculating, but the timing is strange.
Wow good detective work :)

FAITH keeps reporting Pies are into Reid he/she has a pretty good sauces i wouldn't rule it out guys.
No surprise they are into him but what does Reid want to do? By all accounts, he's happy at the Swans and hasn't even started his 5 year contract. Surely if there's any chance of being homesick, you wouldn't commit to such a long contract.

I wouldn't see the swans moving him on unless he asked to go. Losing Reid would basically cancel out getting Tippett.

Whether or not he has good sources inside Adelaide is something for the Adelaide faithful to determine, but to know Reid was going to Collingwood he would need good sources inside one of those 2 clubs as well.

Worth remembering when he started the Reid (homesick) trade to Collingwood rumour he also was talking about Geelong being into Rohan.

When it was pointed out Rohan won't start running until November and a club would be extremely brave to pursue a player coming back from a bad break all of a sudden that rumour got dropped.

TBH he sounds like one of those fake psychics; throws out a few bones, one gets latched onto and it's a case of "see I told you so".

They couldn't fit him in their cap...believe what you want but don't become a sucker for it.
Agree. Said it last week and will say it again. Stupidity on this board knows no bounds. Mentioning Reid as a trade option and actually typing it is embarrassing to all regulars on this board.

Not a sucker at all mate :) just remember he/she called the Johnston trade a long way before it was confirmed :)
Was this before or after Armstrong was linked with Sydney?

If before, impressive.
If after, which other young South Australian did we have on our list that might have headed home?

On the grapevine i hear that a few of our players are not happy campers over this as Grundy will probably be the one going.
We have so long been good at trading ,this could undo all that good work

If you listen to the grapevine...everyone is ******* going. We won't pay overs! BTW, the player has to agree to a trade and from what I've heard (different grapevine) Reg doesn't want out of Sydney!
