As a Crows supporter I'm sorry to see him go. Not the most talented player and capable of the odd clanger, but if you ever need someone to stand in the hole Hartigan's your man. He copped a lot of unfair criticism from some quarters for those clangers but was a valuable player for us IMHO. Good luck to him and to you Hawks.

Couldn't be that bad if he finished 8th in your best and fairest.

Even ahead of key defenders including Talia and Doedee.

You can never go wrong recruiting good people to the club. Even if they don't end up having huge on field impact they are always good for the club culture and standards. Bruce, Fitzpatrick and fitzpatrick didn't offer us much on field but have left a mark on the club and fitzmagic is still involved and commited to the club and bruce was a coach with us for years after retirement.

Watch this.

Good egg.

Tom Phillips is another of this good type of human beings, going out of his way to help and care for the unfortunate people in this world, it says a lot about this young men.

Clarko loves this type of players like Hartigan and Phillips on a the list, its a very nice ingredient for the culture of a footy club, especially when it comes to Hawthorn the family Club..

The greatest team of all!
I wasn't impressed with us grabbing this old codger but today every single cent was worth it to see him punch that big bull in the back of the head, twice.

Been good. Glad to be wrong.
Ditto on all of this.

Anyone know what happened to his hand, the way he was holding it running off it looked like a finger may have been dislocated.

Yep it was worth recruiting him just for the biffo!

If we're not going to challenge for silverware this year, may as well make other teams a little more uncomfortable :p

Just a clumsy spoil. He wouldn't hurt a fly. Fine at worst.
Shouldn't even be looked at if you compare what the snitchmond defenders and most others clubs defenders get away with every week, but he does play the for Hawks, so anything is possible.

Probably won’t be making the trip to Perth. Late, low impact to the head. A week.
Would be very stiff to get a week.
Still don't understand how anyone ever had an issue with picking him up for nothing... Solid player that was always going to make us better
Hartigan will be a great stopgap player, but I understand that people were edgy that the 22 would be full of role-players, and that we would continue blooding youngsters at 2020 pace. That hasn’t been the case though, the club has now recognised that there is no short term silverware, and that getting games into players like Day, Scrimshaw, Lewis, Kosi, Brockman, Downie and DGB to will be fastest way for us to improve.

Has had a couple of tough assignments so far this year in Lynch and Hawkins; and held his own of both occasions

Add to that the little ear massage on Porky and he's endeared himself very nicely

In the Amazon series 'Making Their Mark' there is footage of Hartigan and another teammate at Adelaide engaging in a rather exuberant fisticuffs during a practice match; which means he is certainly up for the fight if needs be
