So what would you like to have happened? Would you be happier if they shot him as he ran back towards them? Would that solve the issue?

How about this from the police when they first saw him?

"Got some ID?"

"You're 17, you don't live here, you're (openly) armed, it's a volatile situation and it's possible you are going to make things worse".

"Go home now."

Given the state of US society, a perfectly reasonable scenario, in which the answer to each question I posed is highly likely to be "no".

And that's why race is an issue here.

A black "Kyle Rittenhouse" would have been treated differently to the way a white "Kyle Rittenhouse" was.

Would he have been declared guilty without trial by political ideologes, the media and the POTUS? Would the prosecutor have even indicted him given the evidence now presented?

The whitewashing of him as a medic, firefighter, security guard……was almost satirical. It wasn’t just cooked posters , it was even presented like this in the NY Times.

They did. The police gave up on policing the area. If they had tried to stop the rioting then we may not be having this discussion.

Do you think that the majority of media on this incident has been pro Rittenhouse? When I search most of the articles I find are rather negative.

HAve a think about the news feeds of the type of people who were anti-BLM etc.

I have thought about that and I'm sure they don't appear in yours or downhillskier's or the majority of people. Yet here we are with you (earlier) and downhill skier arguing that the media is unfairly influencing public opinion and trying to get him off. My suggestion is those articles would be in the minority.
