I don't know whether i was hearing things or not, but i think i heard someone during the seppi match that said, if he loses against Murray than he stands 35th on the ranking. So if he beats Murray potentially a top 30 position. Then he goes on to a semi clash against Nadal (a person hes beaten before) or Berdych. Anyway that's just how i see it. But Ken Rosewall even said Nick Kyrgios could pull of the impossible and win the grand slam on Sunday night:

It was audible and at a time kids were watching. Think audible obscenities aren't tolerated in tennis. Usually a warning then a penalty for subsequent utterances.

You might have even noticed the word is censored here.

If you aren't sufficiently observant to get the audible obscenity matter you'll probably not have noted his smart arse comments either.;) Start by looking up Pat Rafter's remarks.
Interesting opinion you have there.

Yes, Kyrgios is currently ranked 35th. Should he pull off a miracle tonight and topple Murray he'll move up to 23rd.

didnt know if he'd go up that high. but if he versus nadal again that should make people think twice about this kid. most likely top 20 and his first grand slam final.

Return game is far too weak to become top 5-10

What defines the best of the best is their stats on the return game. Kyrgios is behind significantly.
I'll agree by saying his return game is inconsistent. He makes good returns but they are currently few and far between. No reason this can't be taught.

He did soundly beat Karlovic a few games ago didn't he??

Kyrgios is up against the statistically best returner in the tournament tonight. Will be an awesome match. This will be a true test.

Im actually confident he will push Murray all the way.

That's just the ones that made it on to Youtube, i'm sure there are many more. Just like i'm sure only a select few of Nicks would make it on to Youtube. Federer had just as bad a reputation when he was younger.

Looks like people have selective memories.

Yeah when he was younger, but learning to curve this anger help make him into the best of all time.

He's ice cool.

Using Federer as an example of someone with a bad temperament is an absolute rookie error. You have no idea.

No i'm just saying give him time, he is still maturing, just like Federer did. No one remembers when Federer was a d/head but he was. He will come around without having to have the media and general public berate him.

With Stan, Nishi and Djokovic on the same side of the draw, the final is already looking like a glass of lemonade left out in the sun

I disagree. Berdych is a different man and capable of beating everybody, Andy murray can beat anybody, and if Kyrgios can make the final it would be immense.

Besides I am predicting Djokovic to get beaten by either stand/kei

Righto :drunk:

Do people actually think arrogance is bad because it affects his tennis or their opinion of him as a person?

He's clearly not overly arrogant.

I would imagine most grand slam winners or successful tennis players all have a "I'm ******* better than you" mindset when they step on the court.
It's a 1v1 sport where matches can go for 4 hours.

You really can't give an inch.

1/4/5 vs 6/7. No real difference.

well he lost in straight sets :(
But still a great effort from the 19 year old. I guess Australia will just have to stick with his 35th ranking :D
Still wondering about that umpires decision on Kyrgios's challenge o_O. For all we know that would've prevented a break point and could have changed the match and

Yeah that was average. But he was already let off breaking that racket in the tie break of the second set, so he can't really be too upset
