c'mon, Jacko gets 3 weeks for a butterfly kiss on campbell Brown , Hayes knocks webbers block off and a reprimand...FFS...maybe the chairman of the MRP needs to be clocked in the same fashion to really determine if the contact was incidental...these stooges are fast becoming a joke...we'd seriously get a more consistent result with Danni Minogue, Kyle sandilands and Irish ruling ea case:eek:

I've never been able to work out why a head-butt is deemed soooooooooooo much worse than a coat-hanger or a strike with the fist.

Sure if someone delivers a classic "Liverpool Kiss" and breaks someones nose, throw the book at him but a bit of push and shove where someone makes incidental contact with his head is suddenly a serious offence!!! WTF???

Jacko's 3 weeks was just bullshit IMO.

Jacko's was two weeks but choose to contest and it was upgraded to three.
As far as Hayes goes. Then the day the AFL starts suspending players for bitch slapping then that's the day I'm outta here.

hit him pretty hard tugg, i reckon if someone clocked you like that you'd be a more than a little miffed...Jacko barely made contact...if this joke of a panel knew anything of precedents and consistency Hayes should have gone for 1 or 2

I think Hayes was going for the ball though. Agree the panel is a joke. Another one of Adrian Anderson's **** ups. How does this guy keep his job?

I'm sure that was the official line Tug but I don't remember him turning to check on the balls position... he was running with the flight of the ball and made a guess at where it was going to come down.

Negligent contact I'm sure so a warning is probably OK & I think his skin was pretty clean which helped.

Still reckon Jacko's 'love tap head butt' was not even worth the original two though...

Jacksons suspension was only worth 2 weeks because he is up in front of the tribunal every 4th week. He was an idiot to contest it because it was obvious they were sick of the site of him. He'll pull his head in now for sure.

Hayes didn't deserve a suspension . Very sloppy but the game is soft enough as it is to be giving players suspensions for open hand slaps. I see where people are coming from when they call it Gay F L ....

Yeah, but you gotta admit Rusty it's sooooo hilarious when they call it that. Really funny. Clever too. If the Hayes hit was OK then if 150 blokes do the same thing this weekend, the AFL won't have a problem with it? Hmmm...

The ruling basically gives the ok to bitch slap your way through a game.
Depends on the players intent Bazzar. The MRP rightly or wrongly decided Lenny's intent was to make contact with the ball, much like Sandilands intent was to mark the ball when he took out Davis. If contact occurs, there is no case to answer. If the players intent was not the ball, and contact is made with the head, no matter how minor that contact, they'll get weeks, ala Jacko. That's how I read it.

he got 60 points to his future record so he didnt get off scot free, sure when you put it up against jacksons suspension it looks unfair but i think its what it deserved...if he does it again will cop a week
