That's as odd thing to say. We don't "need" this or any other thread. But it's nice to specially note a kid in his first ten games having this kind of courage in a contest at a tense time in a big game.

What shits me the most is Shortsteppell won the Rising Star for chipscabbing easy kicks off half back.

Luke is a shout for the RS but that act alone is more courageous than anything Shortsteppell has ever done.

The sad reality of some of our players in our team, due to confidence, form and injury (all three for wright).

His courage would stand out in any group. He's pretty fearless. Its not like this is a once off either, he's had a few brave moments already. The spoil in Rd 1 comes to mind

I agree he is courageous/fearless, already one of my favourite players. Yeah, you may be right but i'd still add we have too few like him.

I sort of agree with you in that we can always use more courageous players. I think most of our guys go when it's their turn.

I will say this though, the bench mark of the comp, Hawthorn have a couple of the softest players in the comp.

There's also different types of courage, Thompson with Hall, Hansen backing into packs, firrito, ziebell, cunnington, petrie taking on two defenders a time and hitting the contest, thomas and nahas going full speed to tackle bigger opponents, ately with the courage to take the game on. Agree though we do have some soft players, but for most of them it's not their fault, form, injury, confidence etc have cost them dearly.

I agree on those you mention, Adams used to but has lost it a bit (confidence?). Thompson could be included.

Archer stood out - it wasn't a slap at the rest of the teams he played in to say so.

Majak's deft tap to Boomer straight after is pretty nice for a bloke with no game sense.
