Recommitted Lachie Henderson [delisted, re-drafted as a rookie]

he looked finished the Prelim against Richmond. Hardly touched it an all he managed to do was wrestle with Grimes in the goal square a couple of times.

the dude should retire gracefully right now. He's had a good career.
He's not a forward, he was literally just there to wrestle Grimes as a defensive forward. As a KPD he looks like he'd be fine for a couple of years. I feel we need to keep him as without him we have 2 defenders over 195cm. The one aged 28 was alternated between ruck and wing in finals and the other is 33. Hendo has a couple of years left

Lachie Henderson is without a doubt the dumbest player in the AFL.

IQ - 2

His athletic ability and size are not too bad, but his football smarts are just garbage.

We currently have 3 position vacant on our main list, with good draft picks. Don't get me wrong I want to resign him but each day goes pass it's not looking good for him
And two contracted players that have been rookies for three years already (Zac Guthrie and Sam Simpson). So they have to be upgraded, or have their contracts bought out.

There's no way that Geelong are keeping Lachie Henderson.

Then why haven't they announced they delisted him?

Geelong has too many defenders, to the point where they were playing defenders in other places (Henderson, Henry, Tuohy up forward, Blicavs on the wing.) He is the weakest link and we need the list spots. Ditch him.

Worth a look for a club like Gold Coast an experienced players needed there plus weather factor could see him do 2 years up there.
Or just becomes a VFL or suburban player only

If we are picking up an experienced KPD, would rather look at Walker from the Lions.

There is not going to be too much demand for a 30 year old KPD like henderson

only team i can see him being suitable for is perhaps the Pies who may give him a 1-2 year deal with Goldsack/Dunn/Reid all being injury prone or retired

Weird career.

Gets drafted to Brisbane while they’re a basket case

Is Traded to Carlton a few years later because we needed something something extra in the Fevola deal

Is pigeonholed as a forward at Carlton, partly to make up Fev’s absence but barely breaks even and looks lost at times

Is sent to defence and does OK

Carlton turn into a basket case circa 2015, and he’s sent forward again and he CBF leading or putting on any pressure because he’s emotionally checked out

Tells the group close to the end of season 2015 he’s out, and doesn’t get another game

Gets traded for peak value to Geelong because he’s an athletic 195 kpp and ‘unfulfilled potential’

Geelong play him in defence and he does OK

By 2018 he’s on the fringe, by 2019 he’s not best 22

*Signs on with Gold Coast at the end of 2019

Howler of a trade from geelong

Howler of a trade from geelong

We turned that trade into Harry McKay after laundering it through GWS.

People think we stuffed up by trading experienced players out.

He played 8 games in the VFL and 5 in the AFL
Ah now that you mention it he did do his plantar fascia early in the season. Had forgotten all about it. Needless to say I don't think it'd be an ongoing issue, given it didn't affect his second half the season. Whether a team picks him up will just be based on whether they rate him or not
