This Ginnivan better than Shoota conversation is nearly as funny as the dolt who rang SEN today to declare Jagga Smith is better than Nick. In other news our other future gun forward who thought he was too good for us just got dropped again after one game.
Is the gun forward’s brother in the reserves?

For all his endeavour, pressure and effort, which I love, Shoota's inability to finish simple shots in front of goal is a serious problem. It's been like that the whole time he's been here.

For a forward, his kicking for goal is not AFL standard and it nearly cost us two wins in two weeks.

Agree. It’s hard to dislike him with the tackles and pressure he puts in, but yeah his goal sense hasn’t really been a strength of his. That’s why Bobby coming back would be a huge boost for us, definitely has a much better goal sense.

That being said, Schultz did kick 30+ goals in two seasons at Fremantle, so he clearly know how to kick them I guess.

The way we kick to him reminds me of how we kicked to Jarryd Blair. Way too often, and usually too high.

I would settle for Schultz being a pressure forward and waiting at the front of the packs for spillage.

It never seemed to be a problem at Freo as I was a big fan and watched a lot of their games.

We kick to him because our marking forwards aren't doing their jobs properly and leading into space.
Shoota at least presents.
This is compounded by slow buildups, allowing opposition defenders time to get back into position.
It was no accident that our Nick inspired last quarter was built on getting the ball in quickly before all the space got clogged up.
I loved that bit of play where Cripps tried to slow Nick down, but Nick fired out a handball on the ground - goal!

McStay did an okay job from what I saw of taking Weitering to the pockets etc. of McStay can nil all draw with the opposition main interceptor then that's a win.

Dan's second goal should help his confidence, which has obviously been at a low ebb.
Instead of trying to give it off, he went back and drilled the goal.
Come on Dan, you can do it!

Excellent point.
I commented at the game we were avoiding Weitering.
In previous games he marked or spoilt everything.

Needs some goalkicking practice.

We know and love the pressure and work rate. But it dampens a little when you can't cap off your own or the teams hard work!

Set shots are just confidence. I don't think it's an issue. Class in general play opportunities is a bit of an issue but he makes up for it by creating so many opportunities with his crazy attack.

I love him. He gives his all every week.
