Unfortunately it ls a poor reflection on our supporters given the abuse he received- the premature judgements here seem to be far to frequent.
Sadly I think Buller is looking like the next target.
His good year last year and good game last week don't actually change his poor year the year before though.

Same will be with Houston if he has a good year (which I hope for). It doesn't change that barely contributed last year in a year that we lost a prelim and probably could have used 10 more of his kicks in that game...

I don't see the point in dwelling on the past.
Both started this season in fine style.

My point is that people prematurely judge players. Schultz has proven his critics COMPLETELY wrong - his bad season is now complete irrelevant.

Not sure why you even reference it, other than as some sort of excuse for these critics.

Have we ever had a player that’s gone from most hated to most loved?

I hope the love messages are flooding in for the guy because he deserves it after the shit he copped.
Only a moron would stoop to hating any Collingwood player, let alone one like Shoota who gives his all and sacrifices his body every week regardless of his form.

He didn’t have a bad season. He kicked 24.21 so had poor conversion. A handful better scores and he kicks 30 goals as a pressure forward..

Was also made to play full forward for periods because of our injury run that year. Was played out of position for large parts

Was he down on form? Yes. It wasn’t a bad season.

Statistically, Ginni has Shooter well covered....and it's not even close.
Jam ya stats up ya shooter (no pun intended). Lachie is in another galaxy when it comes to being an important part of a side. Show me a time that Ginni has made anyone else around him better or done anything on field that isn't all about Ginni? New and improved goal celebrations aren't high on my list of strengths

Hawthorn were 5, 7, 8 and 7 wins in the 4 seasons before Ginni arrived. They were 14 and 15 wins in the last two seasons.

At Collingwood, we went 9 wins and 6 wins (Ginni's first season but he played 5 games). In his first full season, we went 16 wins and then 18 wins and a premiership.

Ginni's win - loss is 62 - 29 for 68%, almost the same as Naicos'

I think you need the Ginni thread then. Go your hardest

Collingwood paid heaps for Shultz.
Collingwood Ginni was welcome to leave.

Ginni will be a good player. Shultz is a very good player and he fits unlike Ginni.

He’s a completely different footballer. Downhill skier with no defensive bones at all. Relies on footy smarts and sneaking off his man to get kicks in the forward pocket. Most of his touches are cheapies up the ground now days.

Your obsession with the scary hawks continues I see.

Shooter is simply overall a way way better player to have in the side for us given our style of play.

Id love to do a survey of our list of the players that played with both and see what their preference is..
Pretty sure they'd agree Ginni has dreamy eyes and his Insta game is elite, Shoota has little beady stones like a Mad Max henchman with the online charisma of an unskippable pharmaceutical ad.

Jokes aside Shulz has been awesome I think from his first outing, smashes contests and victims (he scares the oppo almost as much as Beau-Beau), contests in the air (surprise dwarf verticality) as well as kicking goals pedantic and arsey (maybe Ginni ahead on the arsey goals).

I love it when he sneaks into the midfield to wreck poor bastards. Haha get Shulzed.

Ginni was superb value for money, a footy brain in a suburban body who confuses and irritates the enemy. Shulz is a brutal package that will break the opposition every chance he gets.

Amusing post - but please - wtf is a "pedantic" goal?

Your linguistic licence is laudable...
All goals are pedantic. Some of them should be worth 4 points, some 9. But no - they all have to be exactly 6.

Ginni just makes people look better when he’s around, it’s his royal sh1tness
