Went to school with Lachie for both Birregurra Primary school, where he was the only kid in the huge school [90 kids] who could kick half the oval. Also went to high school with him, at the Geelong College, but was a couple of years behind him. Our First team won the APS competition when he was in year 12 with much thanks to Hendo.
Great bloke, only downside is he supported Collingwood, so may be mentally unstable.
I do hope he gets more opportunity at Carlton, because I can see him becoming something great.

You would think they could get his debut year right

Who is he? Where does he play?

Who is gonna be our power forward?? Bloody Fisher?

I thought part of the reason we were gonna take Bradshaw is so he can teach the young forwards and wasn't as selfish as stupid bogan Fev?

Who's gonna lead our forward line? Fisher?? Setanta?? Kreuzer is still too young to carry our goal kicking load?

I hope this trade doesn't turn into a vasectomy for our forward line and Ratten's career!

OK, saw the Wikipedia info on him, so I can breathe a bit easier now..

Looks like he'll be a Jarrod Waite type player. Good to see we're sticking with kids.

Are these two quotes, in combination, a confession that you post w/o thinking

First of all let me say this i hate carlton with all my heart and i hope fev kickeds 10 goals on your back line :thumbsu:

"Bogan with bogus account, your Mod is ready".

Come on mods Card him for listing Carlton as his team :thumbsd:

Back in business, 5-Man. The whole feel of supporting the boys has changed. Can't believe what a cloud Fev carted round with him. It's a beautiful day, champ. :thumbsu::):thumbsu:

Not wrong :thumbsu: I loved his skill but always found him a very flawed performer - even on the ground. I don't even mind if Vossy makes him a better man - not that I think Vossy cares/thinks much about anything other than success at this early stage of his career

Vossy has made him a better man.

To the posters who haven't seen much of Henderson, he is basically a younger version of Bradshaw. Can play at either end of the ground, although he did play the majority of his games with Geelong U18's up forward.

This kid will be sensational when he gets another year or two under his belt.

2012... right about time for our premiership window to be opening as our kids are all hitting their prime... put another 5-10kg on him and he will be a monster CHF. If we can pick up another KPF with pick 12, then we are laughing all the way to the bank.

I can so see #17 sitting on the shelf now.

And the best part... no more having to worry about Fev screwing up again and dragging our clubs name through the mud...

Blues excited by new-look forward line

“Lachlan Henderson is an outstanding young player and will be an important key forward for the Carlton Football Club for the next 10 years,” Ratten said at a media conference at Visy Park today.

Josh who? ;) :o :D

“Having a selection in the first round at next month’s National Draft is also important for our continued development and we know that selection 12 will be a very good young player. Importantly Brock McLean, who we have recruited from Melbourne, provides us with an experienced young player (McLean is 23) who is a real leader and an in-and-under midfielder. All in all we are delighted with the two new players and our first round draft selection that we have obtained during the Exchange Period,” Ratten said.

Plus pick 12.

I went to bed shitting myself that we were going to get stitched up today.

Brisbane might be my second team again.

I had a soft spot for them after Fitzroy merged with the Bears.

The fact they stuck it up Essendon and Collingwood in the big one was the icing on the ****ing cake. :thumbsu: :)

But a long second

Congratulations - most of us on the Brisbane board really rate Hendo. We have (had) him pegged to take over from Browny.

Hope he does well for you (except against us, of course ;))

Cheers... he definitely looks the goods. I reckon that he will slot into CHF nicely.

By the news stories breaking about Brownlow night, it looks like the Blues were the winners in this trade deal :)

Might wanna keep a check on all that runaway optimism.

I chuckled you idiot! :D:thumbsu:

Henderson IS the quality young KPP our list needs. Recuited #8 in a pretty good draft. This is a win for the CFC make no mistake. ;)

I like this quote...

“I want to make one thing very clear. The rumours that Chris Judd, or any other player was involved in our decision to trade Brendan are completely incorrect. It is disappointing to hear such rumours as it is so far from the truth. The players were not involved in this decision and were not even asked for an opinion on this matter, nor should they be, as this is a matter for the Football Department, Management and the Board of the Club, ” added Ratten.

And congratulations to Collingwood for yet another boring trade week from them. Lots of puff and hype and crap offers for good players and then picking up a second rate ruckman for a first round pick... classy work :D

Stoakd with this deal. :thumbsu:

Hendo is a talent, and a very good size, and it's great to get back into the 1st round, makes November a bit more fun.

Just a very good result for the Carlton football club, we've done the right thing, and come out of it well. One small step backwards to take a couple of very big steps forward, this is what we needed :thumbsu::)

Very happy with this deal also. Obviously a win/win trade. All the best to both teams in 2010.
