can someone please tell us who havn't seen him play what kind of a player he is and can we expect him to play at all next season?

Apparently pretty good at kicking goals which is nice.
Hunter is a left-footed midfielder/forward that represented Vic Metro at the AFL Under-18 national championships, and earned 2012 TAC Cup Team of the Year honours for his recent season with the Western Jets.
The 181cm and 78kg Hunter is also the cousin of Essendon's Mark McVeigh and Swans co-captain Jarrad McVeigh.

Somebody else would have bid before 46 if North had passed. I have no gripes with North over that.

i reckon he will, not many, but he'll get a run.
needs a good preseason and get some muscles on them arms.

Possibly. We did have a few surprising debuts this year. I didn't really expect Jong, JJ, Roberts, Pearce, campbell and Talia to get games in this year. Most handled AFL level pretty well too.

Will need to work hard in the pre season to get a chance.

Undoubtedly good genes, Mark was a handy cricketer (and punter). Mum is one of Australias best ever lacrosse players. Lacrosse people generally have good engines. Similar to basketball you need all round vision, kind of like basketball. I hope he played.

He’s got a great mix of inside and outside capabilities, and loves it hard and in close. He’ll be a welcome addition to the doggies side, and will fit in very well with the McCarthy game style which the Bulldogs are working towards establishing for their next finals campaign.

Doggies supporters can expect to see his best football forward of centre, as he has great explosiveness out of congestion, and adds a bit of polish to the young rugged and hard working in and under midfielders, and will compliment Wallis, Liabratore and Smith very nicely. What he needs to work on is his consistency, as his best and worse are miles apart. If he can get some continuity into his game, which I don't doubt will happen, then he’ll be a ripper for many years to come."

Haven't been through the whole thread, so if I'm repeating things, I apologise.

Mark Hunter is a former captain who still flies under the radar! Many Dogs supporters I know can't even remember him - now that's low flying!
As I recall, he was a genuine hard nut who had a fair bit of leadership about him, hence being made captain. He's probably like Nick Maxwell in that he wasn't the best player in the side but a genuine leader, and that made him a valuable player.
My feeling is that Lachie has a bit more "brilliance" about him than his dad. If he also leads from the front, he'll be a great pick up for us.


PS: now that his breeding has been explained, I understand why/how the McVeigh boys came to be Dogs supporters as kids.
