I'll be really pleased to see him come to the club, and anything 46 or later would be a bargain.
It sure would, but considering we got Cordy for pick 14, using the 2nd round pick wouldn't be a bad deal either.

On what he has shown to date, pick 14 is over the odds for Cordy. I remain hopeful he'll fulfil his promise but I don't think the Cordy pick is a good benchmark.

Wallis was a steal at 22. If he is anywhere near Wallis then pick 27 would be fine. However I don't think he is as good as Wallis on the assessments and coverage I've seen so far.

Still crossing my paws for pick 46.

That was my point. If we know that Hunter will be (at least) a good player, pick 27 is worth it. There's a fair bit of guesswork in drafting and a lot of highly rated juniors don't kick on, even those taken in the top 5 :(

Lachlan may become a good AFL player however on what he has shown so far 4th round is about where he would go if not a father son. If Bulldogs are forced to use 3rd round I would do it. If second round I would pass on him.

You'd think he'd fall to at least our 3rd rounder.
He won't go first round and then we really only need to have GWS, GC and Melbourne pass on him in the second round and he's ours in the 3rd.

Saints with their 2 picks (first round and Goddard compo) may be tempted, he would suit their list at the moment, and they have a history of messing with us.

With 4 potential draftable father son picks (there may be more) hopefully Hunter can slip through the cracks and no one bids on him.

Does anyone know what sort of pick Port are likley to get for Pearce?

For anyone who has seen him play. Obviously he's pretty agile but the most important thing for me is, Is he a one grab player or does he tend to fumble under pressure? In my opinion this is what sets the good players apart.

Tested pretty well at the combine and has been talked up on AFL Future Stars quite often, totally worthy over a second round pick; though will be crossing my fingers he is picked up in the third.

Former Bomber fan...
But seems keen to be a doggy and continue to improve!

F*** me, only a bulldog f/s goes for the bloody opposition.

I find it interesting that he would have been 5 when Essendon won the premiership in 2000.

Is team success now more convincing than family allegiance, to a young child deciding which team to follow?

(Of course, the simpler and more likely explanation is that his cousin Mark McVeigh was playing throughout his childhood and his father was long since retired. But I just wanted to get deep for a second.)

The kid has a good engine and is one touch with good skills under the pump. Bullies did well to ask him to play more inside. He's tackling pressure was very good for the Jets this year. He's a quality lad too which means that he'll do whatever is asked in order to get his shot and perform for the club. IMO, can't go wrong no matter where you pick him up.

The dogs have nominated Hunter and are said to snare him with pick 46 a third rnd selection according to the AFL WEB SITE.
Viney and daniher also chosen by Dees and the Bombers all other farther sons prospects have not been nominated. It would be great get if we got Hunter at 46

If I was any good I'd have been a father/son to Essendon. I'm like the anti-Hunter. I also tell great porkie pies.

So will your new user-name be Clay Hunter, or will it be Hunter Clay???

We'll wait to Clay to go all Stephen Tiller on me before altering. Hope it never happens.

Can compo picks be used in the bidding process?

For example could Melbourne bid pick13 for Hunter forcing us to use pick27?
