Hi guys.
I've seen Hunter play for the last couple of years and have to say he will be a fantastic pickup. He reminds me somewhat of jack riewoldt when he plays forward. Seemingly undersized, but can compete strongly one on one and take a good mark, leads well, and loves a hanger etc. His kicking can somewhat be suspect at times, i think you will love him for the freakish athleticism and skill he will use, but be annoyed a bit when he misses some sitters- though i believe he has greatly improved and will only get better with more development. His work in the midfield creates another layer an dimension to this versatile player, smart footy brains, and is a strong tackler. You've got another f/s gem :thumbsu:

I knew it was ridiculous people saying we should overlook him at our third rounder, we haven't heard anything but good things about him so far.

A few years ago he was tipped as a future top 5 draft pick for us, obviously other in the draft came on pretty damn well and he might have stalled a bit but the talent is definitely there.

Couldn't be happier with him :)

There were also flogs on here saying he had a bad attitude-- he was 15 yo ffs!

Anyway, I am very glad we got him.
 
My impressions based on limited information: Knows where the goals are, a nice left foot kick, extremely agile, explosive first few steps and a good head on his shoulders.

I hear good things but don't know too much about Hunter.
Hypothetically, if we didn't pick up Hunter where roughly do you think he would have been picked in the draft by another club? 10-20? 20-30? etc..
Just curious to know where he lies

At least 35. Dogs hierarchy had him at late 20s to mid 30s. So, he seems to be a bit of a bargain at 46.

Yeah i saw the interview with Dalrymple i think it was, they rated him between 25 to 35 so he is a good pick up at 46. Sounds promising lets hope he turns out to be a great dogs player.

Absolute mongrel. If we had five of him around the forward 50 perimeter the ball would never go out. Throws his body on the line to defend the ball; that's the part that has impressed me the most.
 
Also weights his handballs very well. You rarely see him handball, and the player has to stop and wait for the ball. Every time I go to see him play, that always sticks in my mind.
