Beams would fit into the bananabender category and would be in front of Keeffe. Keeffe would have to be in the class of Scarlett to get in front of Beams. Im not saying you will be wrong, it is however unlikely, Keeffe will be better then Beams.
Beams completely slipped my mind (that is what happens when you get older) and what a superb player he is in the making and his comeback has been seamless also.I think you are right mate and I agree about Dayne but I am happy both boys are at the Pies and both will be long term player for us.:thumbsu:

A month later, standing Adelaide's Kurt Tippett, Keeffe did his knee, succumbing to Collingwood's plague that year. He was shocked at first, then phlegmatic. It would stop him playing, but not learning. ''Some guys hate rehab, hate meetings, just love playing footy,'' he said. ''I like everything about footy. I like meetings; I'm in a minority of one!''

Thought this article deserved a thread of it's own

He was really good on Buddy last night! Buddy kicked 4 overall, but 2 goals were handed to him from dodgy free kicks, which Keeffe wasn't involved in, meaning he only kicked 2 goals on Keeffe.

That is a damn good effort from a young player to be able to hold one of the best forwards in the comp to only 2 goals!

Another one was from Goldsack kicking one down his throat from the kick in. Keeffe was good all night but just unlucky in the end that Buddy managed four goals.

His goals were from 3 free kicks (none against Keeffe) and that Goldsack turnover

Ah yes, I forgot that one. That was a facepalm moment for sure!

Wow, all the more impressive from Keeffe! I don't remember the 3rd free kick. I remember the one against Sinclair, and then the one about a minute afterwards. What was the other one? Didn't he kick one from 50 down the city end? Was that a free kick?

The other one was where Shaw held onto him

An all too familiar story against Buddy. You feel like your best defender on the night is holding him pretty well, yet he still walks away with four goals to his name. The game sucks sometimes.

But yeah, Keeffe was very good one on one for most of the night. :thumbsu:

Buddy burnt him very easily on the lead in the first half but Keeffe worked backed and held him well enough.

Another solid performance from Keeffe. Just love his composure and ability to kick well on both sides from any situation whether it be a stationary kick from a mark or in general play. Hope he is around in the backline for the next decade or so.

I thought he was really slow tonight.

He takes a moment to decide to run and chase the ball, by which time someone else has got there before him

Just needs to stop crapping his pants even when hes got the ball in space.

I think that was the general sentiment early on from nearly everyone watching him play but it is just part of how he looks. He often looks uncertain but very rarely makes the wrong decision. It took me about 10 games or so to get used to it but I never worry when he has possession now, he is very solid.

He looks like a man that's lacking a bit of confidence. He also needs a big pre season as buddy seemingly blew him up in the first quarter last week.
He's important for us for the obvious reason that he frees up Reid but I feel with a big pre season he'll go from strength to strength next year and with a tank and his agility will be our best defender for the likes of buddy, kennedy, camerons.

Has been building and re-finding his feet and performing at a good standard while doing so. He is not as laterally mobile given the injury he had, it seems, but he is good in the marking contest, OK below his kness and a very accurate kick. And he gives us more flexibility in terms of where we play Reid.

Mitch Brown - 0 goals
Ty Vickery - 0 goals
D. Petrie - 0 goals
J. Carlisle - 0 goals

Hes MURDERING his opponents. The new human blanket?
