Height: 192cm
Weight: 90kg
D/O/B: 11/09/1994
Position: Def

Lachie was selected by the Giants with pick number three in the 2012 NAB AFL Draft, and debut for the Giants in the opening round of the 2013 season.

Lachie is a defender with terrific ability to win the contested ball in the air and at ground level. Poised with the ball in his hands and makes smart decisions.

Plowman has impressed all since his arrival in western Sydney.

A key defender in a side that badly needs help down back, the 192cm, 84kg Plowman is a certain starter in round one, according to coach Kevin Sheedy.

"Young Plowman will come into the side," Sheedy said on Fox Footy's AFL 360 program.

"He's a very good, strong player.

"We'll probably bring two first-gamers in I'd say (in round one) and over the next month we'll bring another one or two in also."

Thought he was a likely future KPD?

He was never really a KPD. At draft time he was regarded as a third tall with playmaking abilities at best. It's just that he'd played as an undersized KPD in the U18s but he's only 192cm (last I recall) so is really short at AFL for that kind of role.

Name: Lachie Plowman

Number: 30

2015 Games: 2 AFL, 9 NEAFL

AFL Fantasy Average: 57

Awards: Nil

Background: Lachie Plowman was selected with pick 3 in the 2012 NAB AFL Draft.

Best Game: AFL Round 22 v Carlton - 20 disposals, 2 marks, 3 tackles, 4 one-percenters.

Summary: Unfortunately for Plowman 2015 was a year of playing catch-up after the defender dislocated his elbow in the very first training session of the year. The nasty injury saw the 21-year-old return to AFL almost eight months after the initial incident. He played nine games in the NEAFL to regain fitness and form before being elevated against Carlton in Round 22. Plowman finished off the season strongly but found it frustrating having to overcome such a serious injury so early in the year.

Pat On The Back: Playing 18 games in his first two seasons, Plowman had a grounding year but remained positive and up-beat at training and around the club.

What They Said: “It’s been exciting. Not frustrating but a bit annoying I couldn’t be out there enjoying some of the success the other boys were having, but hopefully we’re moving on to bigger and better things soon enough.” - Lachie Plowman.

Look Ahead: Now fully recovered from his elbow injury, Plowman will hopefully be able to complete a full pre-season and play more senior games in 2016.
