I've just got a couple of queries on him from a leadership and contested/aggressive side of things, I've only seen him live twice mind you... so maybe I caught him on an off day(s).

I think a Toumpas, Stringer or Vlatsuin would be a better option ... but that's just me personally.

We are crying out for some outside midfield class TPM - this guy would be perfect. I beleive hes put on some size of late so the question marks about his ability to use strength have been allayed somewhat.

Anyway the way things are going, we'll get a shot at Stringer with pick 2 as well..

27 touches, 3 goals and 10 marks today in a faultless performance.
Time just stands still when this kid has the footy, it was a joy to watch.

Uncontested possessions galore.

He may well be a super talent, but to me it seems that the blinkers are well and truly on Whitfield in the same way it was for Scully and Gibbs.

Please explain.

In this regard, how is he different to any one else?

Every kid playing champs/tac has the scouts in the back of their mind. Team play is at the forefront, but they're all susceptible to a little self-interest.

I personally think contested/uncontested possessions means very little these days. Across the board, coaches are more worried about effectiveness. From what I've seen, this kid hits targets and sets up multiple scoring opportunities. Im not surprised he's all the rage.

Who said anything about self-interest?

I'm not surprised he's all the rage either, I just think the blinkers are well and truly on in regard to alternatives.

When's the last time a club's taken the non-consensus player at no.1?

When's the last time a club's gotten the best player from the draft at no.1?

More outside than Scully, more skilled & only ventures where angels dare to tread.

what are your thoughts on mathew ling from clarence in tasmania playing colts and averaging bit over 40 a game could be a likely one round? im thinking more like top three #gun #can play the game

Don't agree.

There are better than both Whitfield and O'Meara.

Garlett for instance is easily a better kick than Whitfield.
Garlett has an excellent left foot, but he is very dubious on his right foot. He usually kicks across the foot wen he wants to ball to go where his right foot would take it.
Whitfield doesn't have these issues. He is a very nice disposer on either side.
