Based on that, I think there are 13 sides capable of making the 8, and maybe I'm rough on the Blues - perhaps there are 14. But of those 14 that could make the 8, I really only see 5 of them as Top 4 contenders. Although Geelong with their massive home advantage could surprise me.
Of my Top 8 contenders list, I would rate Essendon, Richmond & the Suns to be the 3 sides that round out the 8, with the Top 5 listed above. Closely followed by Geelong & Adelaide. I bunch us with the Magpies, wouldn't surprise me if they finish adjacent to us on the ladder either one above, or one below and both just outside the 8.
