There are some games we play that are absolutely massive. You go back and change the result in particular match ups of ours and one game could be the difference between 5th and 8th, etc.

In particular the Sydney and Melbourne games.

My ladder is only possible if we continue beating teams we should beat...

Edit also, this changes so much week by week. Reckon I did this last week and had GWS coming good and finishing top 4!

Who do we lose to???

I think WC, Richmond, Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Geelong are locks for top 8 so that leaves two spots. There's 7 games that we SHOULD win: Fremantle x2, Carlton, Essendon, GC, BL and NM. Win those games and that gives us 13 wins which is generally enough in most years to play finals. Saying that, not much point of beating average teams and then getting slaughtered on the big stage (Draft position wise anyway). Definitely need a few big scalps. Round 17-20 will be season defining imo. Got a number of players to comeback into the side, so that's definitely a positive.

Collingwood vs North Melbourne
Round 17 MCG. !!

That's the game I think so much will rest on.
It could be either just to make the finals
Or to host a final .

Think Queens Birthday is huge, along with Freo this weekend and North a bit later. West Coast at the MCG is gettable too.

If we can go 2-1 we should be a lock for a nice punt at finals.

Going by Slobbo in the tackle our make or break games start the week earlier with his mighty Bombers and go through to round 20
Again proves that bloke is a real tool
Yes this game onwards 17 to 20 are the rounds I think

Hopefully Moore/Elliott/Varcoe/Maynard are all fit and back in the team by then.

Murray to find some form in the VFL by then as well and hopefully no more injuries to the team from now until then (extremely unlikely).

Wishful thinking but if we can have basically 20 of our best 22 all playing (Aish won’t be ready by then and 1 of Elliott/Reid/Wells will fall apart again) we could make a real strong push and hopefully carry that into finals (that’s if we make it).

Also while I don’t think we are a top 4 team even with our best 22 on the park, I believe we are good enough to scare and beat any top 8 sides we play if we made finals.

Unfortunately we played Hawthorn and GWS when they were in red hot form. If we played both those sides this week and next we would beat them both. Unfortunate timing for us. And now we play Melbourne who are the most inform team in the competition in 2 weeks, a little frustrating we couldn't get some teams while they were down on form.

At least we managed to get Essendon at a good time.

While I agree with you the flip side is we got Essendon and the Dogs at a pretty good time. Swap those two games around and results may have been different.

2 players down against GWS really hurt us in that game.

Adelaide and Essendon spring to mind.

perhaps i'm more of an optimist and someone will correct me however i'm fairly certain last season we had the smallest losing margin and this year the Hawks game we can call an aberration and richmond game we ran out of steam coming of the 4 day break. so you are only as weak as your bottom 6 players so as you have noted lets replace our questionable bottom 6 players, for sake of this conversation let's just call it.

Daicos,Mayne,appleby,thomas,cox,greenwood
Replaced by
Elliott,Aish,Wells,Moore,Maynard,murray** on better form

i would personally say our list matches that of any.
