Hardest year to predict in a while.

Freo will win their remaining 3 games so you would think they will finish higher than 4 th.

Other than that who knows ?

Hawks V Swans ? Swans V Cats - who knows ?

Cats just have to beat WC - then we retain second with 2 games to go. If we lose to WC reckon we will slip to third or fourth.

So a really vital game for us. In fact for us to avoid playing an interstate final we need to win all 3 remaining games. Possible for sure - also possible to lose 1 or even 2 games.

We have injuries and too many players out of form at the wrong time of the season for my liking.

Don't you remember 1995?

Not good enough. I want a winning margin of at least 28 shots, and a record semifinal margin at that. And I also want some complete blonk to kick 6 goals, like Eric Moore. And I also want a complete and utter blonk of blonks to kick an 80 metre goal like John Ronaldson.

The cards will fall as they will fall. As much as we can speculate there are way too many variables to be sure, bit like the weather. I really think it is in OUR hands now (as it always was). We can beat any team well when we are on, we all know that. First question is will we be on, or partly on, or more off than on? Second question is can we sustain it through the finals? We will see.

I have not given up hope that we are in a great position to win 07, 09, 11 and 13.

I was there Fred, by myself in standing room and some bloke pissed on my leg. Great day all round.

Worst day I've ever spent at the footy, standing in the old scoreboard stand, rotten view, crushed by delirious Richmond supporters, absolute massacre actually undertold by the scores.

My final 8 predection

Freo
Hawthorn
Cats
Swans
Richmond
Pies
*Essendon
Port

So on account of an easy run home Freo to finish top, the Hawks and us will drop a couple of games. I think Freo are a very good chance to finish top 2 at least and therefore would have to be a strong chance to make their first Grand Final. Very interesting September ahead.

No way will Hawthorn drop to 3rd. They might - and I stress the word might - get done by Sydney (although I doubt it), but they won't lose to Collingwood and certainly won't lose to North.

They are actually a chance to lose all three I feel. Shouldn't drop North who have nothing to play for but the other two are far from gimme's.

How has North nothing to play for? They are one game from the 9 with a massive percentage advantage.

Just did the ladder predictor for the first time. First I'll show you who I tipped in the key games remaining.

Round 21
Hawks v Pies

Round 22
North v Hawks
Cats v Swans

Round 23
Swans v Hawks

Cats and Freo don't drop any, gives you a top 8 of:

1. Geelong 72
2. Fremantle 70
3. Hawthorn 68
4. Sydney 64
5. Collingwood
6. Richmond
7. Essendon
8. Port

As you can see percentage doesn't effect the top 4 due to the point difference. However 5-8 could shuffle around due to percentage and the essendon saga.

Finals Series

Week 1

Cats v Swans
Fremantle v Hawks
Pies v Port
Richmond v Essendon

Week 2
Swans v Pies
Hawks v Richmond (I'm sure we would all love to the see the tigz get up in this one)

Week 3
Geelong v Hawks
Fremantle v Swans

Week 4
Geelong v Fremantle

07,09,11,13...

More likely Hawks will lose to the Pies than North.

Yes North could beat them but surely Pies are in better form and more to play for.

True, but recent history shows that the hawks matchup well against the pies. I think North's pace might get them, especially if they are playing for 9th spot.

Just hope they win one and lose one.

This prediction would be the best possible outcome, I love your confidence.

I'm fairly confident we will beat the Swans, which will mean they MUST beat Hawthorn the following week - They will be as hungry as anything. Is it good we get a soft round 23 against Brisbane whereas Sydney and Hawthorn will be playing finals intensity round 23?

The best possible outcome for me would be a Hawks/Cats GF. I am willing to risk the pain and anguish of a second GF defeat for the chance of vengeance. It would also give us 12, and if a heavy victory, well, surely justice (revenge) could never be better served.

North are a bloody wildcard, you never know what your gonna get.
My footy picks have suffered more at the hands of this mob than any other over the past 2 seasons.
Brad Scott must tear his hair out with their inconsistency. Exemplified by Boomer and Wells.
Absolute superstars on their day but can COMPLETELY disappear the next. Even within games they are inconsistent as a team.
There is clearly a leadership issue within the playing group.

Third. You forgot 1989.

Best possible outcome is us even making it first and foremost. And that's a long way off.

Or maybe they're just not that good. Check their recent history. They're always "going to be great". Wells has been about to take the next step for 10 years. Look at what happens to them in finals when they do make it. It isn't pretty.

Good side on their day, but they aren't where they are by accident.
