Re: Laidler Reported?

Oh come on.

Deep down you want him suspended, because it will be easier for you guys if he is.
They're still blaming Murphy for having the temerity to throw his stomach at Kerr's fist a few years back.

Shoulder to shoulder bump.

Hille miraculously recovered like most Essendon players after getting a free kick.

Piss weak.

Re: Laidler Reported?

It keeps being reported that Laidler is up at the MRP for a bump on Hille, I have not seen the incident dose anyone have a link to a video of it?

Also for those that have seen it what are his chances of getting the all clear?

Who would know?

Re: Laidler Reported?

Thanks for the vid, I am not confident he will get off the redeeming factor seems to be that hille got straight back up. Hopefully a reprimand or a fine.

Re: Laidler Reported?

Good record and minimal impact should make it a reprimand.

If I remember correctly Thomas's bump was medium impact and was upgraded a week due to his bad record

Re: Laidler Reported?

So hang on... is it officially a reprimand or are we taking prediction here?

When I had a look last night the contact seemed to be more shoulder than head.

The way he launched, had he got Hille in the head I would think Hille wouldn't have got up quickly and played on.

Even if they do assess it as head, they rely on the outcome to determine impact. got up quick with no attention required = low impact.

Reprimand at worst IMO........but lets see what the monkey decides.

Re: Laidler Reported?

Just heard on SEN that he was cleared, only fines this week. The first time that the MRP has made sense all year.

Lets be honest now, I don't think we've had a player suspended all year have we?

Waite was thinking about it in the Saints game earlier in the year.;)

Jamison pre-season

Dont say it too loud though. Once the trolls hear they will be mouthing off about how we always get off and we are such a dirty side but we have the MRP in our pocket.

Re: Laidler Reported?

Laidler cleared D Hille.Majority of contact to shoulder, minimal high contact.

J Laidler cleared contact Melksham.Pair meet front-on,action not seen as bump. HIgh contact accidental and not unreasonable in circumstances

https://twitter.com/#!/AFL_PKeane

There was little doubt in my mind that the contact to Hille was mainly to the shoulder & the Melksham one didn't even warrant looking at.

The posters on the Main Board who were comparing Laidler's bump to the one which Thomas was suspended for, were just displaying their usual anti-Carlton bias.

Re: Laidler Reported?

You dont think? Not trolling - just comparing it to the Daisy incident Id be worried - leaves the ground and collects the jaw:

lol i love how you egirls fans are hoping beyond hope that he gets outed ...grasping at straws and attempting to make an arguement for his suspension is laughable ..now trot off back where you came from .

Re: Laidler Reported?

Great news. :thumbsu:

Laidler is incredibly underrated. Duigan has received heaps of attention and praise for his courageous efforts, but Laidler has done just as well.

Our back six is extremely solid with Henderson making the move down back and Davies rotating through. I look forward to two years down the track when a few of the younger guys come through and make it even stronger.

Re: Laidler Reported?

Premierships are born out of tremendous defences. A team can score as much as it can but if the back six are weak then it wont be enough. Glad we're building one of best units in the AFL. When its open to debate whether a healthy and firing Paul Bower (who when he was last time was close to AA squad selection) would improve this team you know you're onto something good.

Laidler had been an important and vastly underrated part of that. Hard at the ball, fair at the man, tough as nails. Always does his job to the letter. His is the type of role that is invaluable to a team's success and is part of exactly what we had been missing before this season. I think people would be surprised just how highly he is rated in the inner sanctum and would be one of the first picked every week (that he's healthy).
