Hey guys

Dogs fan here. Nice win on the weekend.

May have been raised on here before, but interested in whether you think trading for Lake would be a good call and if so, what you'd give up to get him.
Stale packet of twisties SHOULD DO IT.

No thanks. I'd be surprised if any club offers anything significant for him. Too much risk.

As for us, he's probably a bit too old and we have our share of talented players who for whatever reason other than fitness or injury aren't getting out on the park.

All fair points. If the market for him's low, the Dogs would be mad to trade him.

Surprised though at the chap who didnt rate him even in his prime. Obviously didnt see many Dogs games from 2006-2010.

By the way, is Jayden Post off-contract?? Will you guys retain him?

He's still on big bucks and part way through a contract, yeah? He'll come good again, would be mad to get rid of him IMO. Just doesn't fit our age bracket.

No doubt a gun in his prime, comes across as a bit of a space cadet at times though?

Not sure about his contract, but I imagine we'll be pretty keen to keep him around, unless we absolutely needed to use him as trade bait to get something we really need - eg. a ruckman

I think he'll be a bit of a late bloomer, maturity wise, but has enough up side to warrant seeing a bit more of him.

Cant afford to roll the dice.

A club might do it and have it work for them.

Someone will be curious as to whether he can get his body right again. If he does he will be good acquisition for a team in the window.

Required : As another poster mentioned to get the right ruckman would consider with Astbury and Post playing for the same position.

Roughead would be of interest to the tigers but the dogs wouldnt be prepared to trade him.

i'm sure fully fit lake would fill a role in our squad but unfortunately i cant see it happening, his price bracket will be nowhere near worth the role he would play and the associated risk of his injury or confidence recovery! no offence but we already have a few backmen with questions over their ability to recover from current injuries!

Hmmmm...this thread's going well.

yeah NOT..

Lakes a quality player when fully fit but isnt even a remote fit for our clubs direction..
Stupid thread

THINK you can disregard most of the comments here, buddy. Lake, in his prime, and just below it is a significant upgrade on any key defender to have plied their trade with the Tigers in the last decade.
He might be shy of Scarlett, but seriously, comparing him to the likes of McGuane, Thursfield, Moore, Astbury, Post etc. is a joke. At least Astbury and Post have time on their side.
Lake was and probably will be a damn fine player again.
But it won't be at Tigerland...too old a player for what we are looking for and comes with risks we don't need!

Nice post Golddust.

Ward isnt ours to trade any more unfortunately. A certainty for GWS. He was yours to trade though a few years back.....Man that McMahon trade is infamous.

Roughead's off limits.

Thought Roos made some interesting comments about you guys on Monday night. He suggested trading for some mature aged players. Asked the question how long you can wait for the team to develop.

Lake's obviously not the guy, but think the Tiges would be wise to pull in some ready made talent.
