Kings just beat the Lakers yesterday 107-99 to continue the NBA's hottest rivalry. I thought some of the comments made by the Lakers and Coach Jackson were pretty silly...
"They have to play perfect to beat us," O'Neal said. "They played a great game and we played a so-so game."
"It seemed like it was such an emotional game for them," Jackson said. "I'm surprised they didn't self-destruct."
"No point guard should be on the team before Allen Iverson -- period, point blank, no questions asked," O'Neal huffed. (Referring to Kings PG Bibby being on team USA)
"I have absolutely no fear of this team at all," Jackson said. "Did you look at their bench and their demeanor? They whined the whole game long. They are unhappy with the refereeing every time we play them. They are obviously carrying something inside."
"That says something, that they have to have the referees to win the game or something. They have to have calls. I mean, maybe it is just their behavior on their home court, but that's not very good behavior for a team that wants to win a championship or thinks they are in a position to win a championship. " Jackson again.
From what I know about Jackson, those comments are a bit our of character. Shaq is being typical Shaq and Kobe is nowhere to be seen??
IMO all they are trying to do is play mind games with the Kings. But I doubt the Kings care. They won and look good heading into the playoffs.
