My father used to talk about the Sth.Melbourne v St.Kilda games being played for the Lakeside Premiership. The winner of the game got possession of the Lakeside pennant which was then flown at either the Lakeside Oval or the St.Kilda C.G. Apparently this tradition continued until the Saints went to Moorabbin in 1964.
1) can anyone confirm the existence of the Lakeside Pennant
2) what did the pennant look like
3) what ever happened to the pennant (ie does St.Kilda still have it somewhere in its archives etc)

Thanks everyone for your prompt reply and the images of the actual pennant. What ever happened to it? Hopefully, it is somewhere in one of the Club’s archives. Maybe time to reintroduce it again.

I presume nothing has changed since that article was written (by the Saints historian) a couple of years ago and it's still a case of "whereabouts unknown"!

St Kilda won easily the last time they played for the Lake Premiership so they should have the flag that's of course if they were still playing for it in 1963.
