You definitely sure it was him?

I find it hard to believe, given that so many people that have never met him remain so adamant that he is an arrogant and attitude-challenged young man?!

Nice slap CyberKev! :thumbsu:

Could not have said it better myself! Give the kid a break, he is only 18 y.o. having moved from Perth, playing for a young, struggling side, and he is still well underweight and raw (have a look at the Adam Goodes of 3-4 years ago and compare him to now).

What does he do - only go out and plays virtually every game, and was involved in two or three of the most exciting passages of play and goals seen all year. He was prepared to "go" when he needed to, and refused to be intimidated by much older players (anyone remember Buddy and Roughie in the goal square scuffle against the Lions in Round 4??).

Despite all the negativity of BF about this young man, I for one am one very happy Hawk to have him at Glenferrie/Waverley!!

Buddy is a top bloke, see him out all the time at the discos since the end of the season, loves to have a good time and loves the young ladies... Whilst he loves having a good time he is sensible about it not like those pigs who play for richmond, they are all they smoking fags and getting wasted...

Buddy is a champ!

Guys, I think you have missed the sarcasm in CyberKev's post. I reckon that CyberKev was taking the p*ss out of all the (particularly) Richmond and West Coast supporters who keep bagging Buddy on other threads.

All Hawks supporters think Buddy is doin' just fine, I would reckon and is definitely living up to the potential No. 1 draft ranking he had in late 2004 until some teams dropped off him. Glad we only had to use a Pick 5 on him - I reckon we got a bargain!! :D

Yeah, I probably shouldn't have used Snickers' post as the launchpad for a political missive, but given the amount of crap Buddy cops from the broader footballing populace, I couldn't resist the little dig.

Its good to see an opposition supporter willing to take him on face value.

When you mention that he's a giant unit, Snickers, I'm hoping that you're not just referring to his height. I'm eager to see a good few more kilos on that frame of his come 2006.

Not me, young player who had to play a difficult role for a young under developed key position. The attitude problem reports so to be all rubbish. Should be a star of the future.

Buddy (along with alot of other hawks) comes into my work pretty often. Certainly not lacking in confidence but he's a real character. Everyone seems to love him too so don't buy into any the of the crap posted by bitter Richmond supporters still spewing over taking Tambling. Browny and Sam Mitchell are great blokes too.

Damian Hardwick and some hanger-on knob called David are not.

I ran into the lot of kids at Chaddy one day, coming out of the toilet - I almost had to go back in and dry up. Tom Murphy, Buddy, Lewis, Roughead and Thurgood were all there. Was amazing. It was good to see them all having a good time together :)

Yes buddy is a top bloke indeed. But don't be so naive as to think he is exempt from getting 'wasted'. He like most young AFL players definately has a very good time he goes out. But i must admit that he and his regular 'going-out' friends (usually Jordan Lewis, Zac Dawson and Harry O'Brien) are quite easily the friendliest AFL players that i know.

Unfortunately they are much nicer than most of the North boys i have met.

Just out of interest ... Why single out Richmond specifically?

Oh how i wish for arrogant cocky bastard that people love hate, to play for Hawthorn.

Sign them all up i say!
The more cockiness the better!

This is football not a personnality contest.
You dont have to respect them as a person, just respect them as a player.
If they cant live up to it, you can always tell them they are ********!

As a Richmond supporter I'm not spewing over Tambling at all. Actually I'm quite excited by the prospect of having jets Deledio and Tambling burning through the Tiger midfield over the next 10 years. We went for best available and we'll see if it paid off in 4-5 years. Comparing the 2 before this time is niave, even then they are totally different players. But if it makes you sleep better at night well...

Good luck to the Hawks. Look to have a good player in Franklin. Still don't see him as a tall marking forward but with the Hawks having 2 of the first 6 picks in the draft, they could pick up 2 key forwards, he could be the league's most dangerous 3rd forward, devastating teams by stretching backlines.

I'm sure Buddy will continue to grow on and off the field... a touch of arrogance, a likable character and one of the funniest people i know.

Played against him in the last couple of years in the west and spent abit of time with him when he came home this year... i'm sure that anyone who has seen him out this year in Melbourne, knows he likes a good night out...

I can see that his profile will continue to grow and become a great of our game and an household name.
