I never said it was illegalWhat was illegal about the eviction? Says they were given notice to vacate due to sale, which is normally 60 days. Reads to me like the landlord didn't have insurance for unpaid rent.

Do you think shit tenants should face no consequences? Clearly it's too easy for renters to game the system. It's an attack piece on renters rights
Yeah, side with the freeloader. I'm not surprised.Baaaaa
I've had personal experience with a shit tenant who paid when they felt like it and sooked when they were a given notice to vacate. Whether that specific story is legit or not matters little - there's countless similar examples. It's amusing that you're trusting a real estate agents account of a situation.

Not doubting that at all.And I've had personal experience with shit property managers and landlords

Would make for a better TV show than MAFSThere should be an app so shit tenants can hook up with shit landlords.

barreness said it was initially an illegal eviction. And yeah, whatever happens in other countries isn't really relevant.I never said it was illegal
I said in other countries it is illegal
I also said they can sell without vacating the tenant.
They can't vacate a tenant in a lease just because they want to sell, it would have to be month to month leasing.
You can just read the article, the tribunal or whatever refused to give them a vacate notice, I presume it wasn't a legal notice but detail is scant in that piece of propagandabarreness said it was initially an illegal eviction. And yeah, whatever happens in other countries isn't really relevant.
You can sell a tenanted property, sometimes it might be advantageous but often I would think not. Wouldn't have thought it would be advantageous with a dodgy tenant that's frequently short in their rent.
- I posted earlier the notice is normally 60 days but I think that might be if you're moving into the property yourself. Think it's normally 120.
So you just make up whatever you want to fill the blanks? You can just read the article, the tribunal or whatever refused to give them a vacate notice, I presume it wasn't a legal notice but detail is scant in that piece of propaganda
Yeh this, yodellinhank I presume the landlord attempted to break the contractAs a landlord you can't just evict tenants upon sale, I've recently sold a unit with a tenant in it.
I was not allowed to just kick the tenant out, it's law. Not that I wanted too anyway.
The purchaser takes over the property with the tenant in place until the tenancy contract expires, that's the law.
I mean yeh, Yahoo finance article quoting only a property manager requires some filling in the blanksSo you just make up whatever you want to fill the blanks?
Why make that presumption? There's other reasons for the tribunal to make that decision. It's not just those evil rich capitalist-loving parasite landlords who break the rules, you know.Yeh this, yodellinhank I presume the landlord attempted to break the contract
I presume there was no fixed term contract, which allows for 60 days notice.barreness said it was initially an illegal eviction. And yeah, whatever happens in other countries isn't really relevant.

That's the assumption.I presume there was no fixed term contract, which allows for 60 days notice.

Yeah, a lot of places aren't being rented out or are short stay now because it's much easier than ending up with some deadbeat who doesn't pay the rent as agreed and won't move out when you want them to and as required to by law. That's the assumption.
Good luck packing up a family and finding a new place in 60 days
Plus having the money to move and pay new bond on that kind of short notice
i tend to think the real deadbeats are the people profiting off others needing somewhere to live and demonising them at the same timeYeah, a lot of places aren't being rented out or are short stay now because it's much easier than ending up with some deadbeat who doesn't pay the rent as agreed and won't move out when you want them to and as required to by law.
