I think he is much better when he doesnt have to think about his skills, put him back into tagging and he doesnt have to worry about it as much. Simply doesnt have the skill set required to be a role player or an outside runner/accumulator.

Thing is, he's our best contested midfielder (Mitchell excluded)
He is the first player to the ball, and if it spills free, he holds a tackle and keeps the ball in

He's also one of the few players who doesn't over-posess the ball when the opposition is pushing us (he often kicks it over the press and sets up an easy goal)

There's a touch of the Tom murphy's about the way fans treat him

Until players step up, he stays in the side

His disposal is a bit frustrating as his kick in the first q to O'brien (?) was majestic, then he was steaming forward later in the game and completely shanked it.

I reckon he has it, he just needs to work on it

Agree but shiels is a better player all round he doesn't farm up as much.

I have been a huge fan of him but tonight I was so frustrated watching him... I don't know if there is a place for him his skills are pretty woeful.Its like he try's hard but ends up looking desperate ... I thought he fitted our team in 14 but not so sure now.I don't wish him the worst I just don't know if he fits into the team as it is now.

Cut the kid some slack. Similar reason to why keyboard critics complain Dangerfield was a sh*t kick ... cos he's spent from constant bullocking and tackling. If you want to talk about poor kicking perhaps lay into Jamar instead..

Perception is an interesting beast.. I'd hate to think where our future trajectory would lie if not for the combined gut run / relentless pressure / tackling prowess / hardcore energy that Sheila & Langers provide. Clangers can be killers too, but who else is providing the level of grunt required to be fearsome long term?

And rest him deep fwd, knows where the goals are and puts pressure on. Breust was good in the middle so may be some pace for langford fwd at times. Still has enough strengths to stay in the side for mine

Both he and Sicily seem to have an innate ability to handball to team mate's shoelaces. Will be a challenge for the coaches to get that out of their games as it results in many turnovers.

Agree up to a point as i like him as a tagger- i think his best value though is in a Sewell type role, mainly to get in and under then grab the ball and quickly give it to someone who can kick long to a target or start a handball chain.

Difference is Sicily is a superb spot up kick.
Go watch the game again, the pie-man finds team mates over and over again......how often does a Langford kick land on the full in a team mates hands?

More referring to handballs.. Both need attention in that department. And Will especially with kicking too. Love his determination though... Would like to see him in a tagging role on Daniel Wells this week.

I know which one I'd keep if that's the case and he doesn't have the famous surname.
